Re: Rashad Vaughn

I think the experts are guessing what is in a guys head relative to any new development. UNLV's biggest hurdle is the league they play in.

And the time zone and tv networks they play on. How many Big Mondays do we already have lined up this year? I wonder how many unlv have?

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Or it refers to someone coming into another colleges message board to talk ****. Go away *******

******* usually refers to someone who isn't intelligent. An intelligent person would look into the matter before making a comment like yourself. Therefore you might be the only ******* here.

Billboard company put up an old UNLV vinyl to fill space while waiting for a new one from UNLV admin. University had nothing to do with the old vinyl going up.

IDK why I defended that, but I guess I have a knack for people commenting on something they know nothing about.

That being said.

Vaughns beast mode.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

A new scout article on Vaughn came out tonight and he literally said the same exact thing about every program that he was asked about.

"I have a good relationship with (enter coach name here) and they play my style."

Literally every single time. Who knows what this kid is thinking and I'm not about to try and figure it out.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Didn't notice that Meyer changed from us to UNLV. That sucks.

Yeah, not awesome, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. I just looked at his predictions; correct about 75% of the time, but many of those are ones that were picked the day of or day before, when you have to believe something was leaked, eg like all those dudes picking SMU for Mudiay the day before he committed. I'm not going to consider those to be 'predictions', per se.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

It seems apparent to me the Crystal Ball is a wind vane indicating the direction of the most recent news. I think UNLV is the 3rd school for Meyer to pick in Vaughns recruitment. Wouldn't be surpised to see it change with the next development.

As for Vaughn, one area that could potentially be a plus for us is the ability to see most of the young talent actually play for us this year. If our young guys can show a lot of potential this year and make some noise in conference that can only help our cause. When Vaughn visits, he will be able to play pick up ball with basically all the guys he will be sharing the court with. I think this could be a big plus for us. Just because a team is loaded with blue chips, it doesn't gaurantee success (see Kentucky from last year). Getting to know and play with the guys he will be playing with on his visit will help us IMO.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

With this being Vaughn's 3rd or 4th visit to campus, I think it's more important for, like NorthCyd said, that he meets this years player (which he really hasn't aside from a few) rather than show off the campus. We still need to go all out for the game, and we will, but I bet he could give me a tour of campus at this point.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I just don't see him coming to Iowa State. We are talking about UNLV here people. While the Big 12 is a higher caliber conference than the MWC (who cares about San Jose State or University of Wyoming), the allure of the Vegas strip is probably too appealing for a young man.

Ames cannot compete with Las Vegas culture wise. We are a small town college. Vegas is Vegas. What happens in Vegas (Rashad going to Findlay Prep) will stay in Vegas. My prediction is UNLV for Vaughn /with UNC as a runner up then ISU in third (followed by Minnesota).

Plus UNLV is getting some good recruits so he will be surrounded by talent
Coaching wise though Fred Hoiberg is much better coach. So I hope he picks that.

Just look at him in my avatar picture....it was taken in Hilton. He doesn't look to happy about being there.

That last part was mostly sarcasm.
Anyway assuming he doesn't pick us this whole thread will be a laughing stock, so many views, replies, speculations, rumors, hopes, and dreams crushed. The meltdown will be hilarious.

If he doesn't pick us do who do go all in for to get another 2014 recruit?

pretty much the reason why I don't have an RV avatar. Good player, don't get me wrong, but I'd have an avatar of Ellerman over Vaughn just because he plays at ISU and RV might not.

If no Cunningham or RV, guessing Hoiberg will get 1 JUCO and 1 transfer. probably a post to replace Ejim in a JUCO for depth

Fair enough.

Going all in on a coveted recruit is never a bad thing. We all know he may not come here. If people want to meltdown over it that's fine and I certainly don't care who laughs about it. I won't be involved in either.
