You'll have to pm me how you guys do those. My mom tried something similar but didn't come out as good as yours.
It's not a secret recipe...a friend shared it on FB. Y'all should try these...they were lip-smacking good!
Ingredients
1 pound Bacon, Cut Into Thirds
1 pound Lil’ Smokies (small sausages)
1 stick Butter
2 cups Brown Sugar
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375F.
2. Cut the bacon into thirds and wrap each smokie.(small sausage)
3. Place all the wrapped smokies in a single layer in a baking dish (9x13)
4. Then melt the stick of butter and then 1 cup of brown sugar and stir until mixed well.
5. Pour the butter and brown sugar mixture on the smokies and bacon.
6. Then take the other cup of brown sugar and sprinkle evenly over the smokies.
7. Bake them for about 15-20 minutes and then turn the heat up to 400F for about 5 minutes or longer until the bacon becomes crispy.
My tweaks: I only used a half cup of brown sugar in step 6. After step 6, I stuck toothpicks through the tops of all of them to make them easier to snack on at the tailgate. Baked for 20 minutes at 375, then used a turkey baster to suck most of the juice out of the pan (the bacon wasn't cooking well enough with all the syrupy stuff in there). I left about a half inch of the "syrup" in the pan with the smokies and baked an additional 15 minutes at 400.
Start to finish took about 10 minutes prep, then 35 cooking.
