I wish some of you filthy animals were going Orlando. Still haven't found anyone I know who will be down there. Suppose I could open a tab at the Hyatt and make "friends" but I've been watching the Witcher and anything in a bar or eatery seems to end up in swordplay and lots of dead peeps. And the way half the CF folks talk in the MBB forums I am just assuming any Cyclone gathering will end in a fight.

Back at the hotel
Lord we got a CF mess
It seems that one of the crew
Had a go with one of the guests, oh yes
Well, the police said we can't drink in the bar, what a shame
Once they started selling those $25 tickets I started looking at plane fares for Friday to Sunday. Then yesterday my laptop hard drive started buzzing so I guess I better spend the money on a new laptop.

Clock is all tick-tock for me and a new laptop. The ancient ( 7 or 8 years old) Toshiba, aka The Brick , is still running Windows 7 which is getting abandoned in January so gotta do da shopping thing after the new year. Got pretty good mileage from that old $550 unit.

I know better these days than to ask on CF for opinions on models/specs as I don't need the polarizing "I know better than everyone else" responses that would generate.

Not exactly sure.

Ride the bike. Take the southern route and go spring break style. Go by the cheap hotels and hook up with some woman who you can get a free room.

Mine is probably about the same age. I don't need anything special as I don't game and pretty much everything is done online.

I got an HP this winter for work. A 17/18 inch screen and it was around $500. Could have gone cheaper but plenty of fine print with the realtors out there that I have to dig through so I want the largest I could get and find a carrying bag for.

Kinda leaning towards a Dell XPS15. Big screen like I have now but super thin and light. Probably more than I need but want something with good battery life, compact and with enough ram and good enough screen for photo editing on the go. It was also has a nice array of the the old and new plug outlets, some of the new models are all new school and seem a little limiting to me. Also like to be able to just plug my Nikon SD card into the confuser without having to carry an adapter.

Is the niece related to you by consanguinity? It would appear the blood of Rohan also flows through her veins!

She is not of my bloodline, but her mother and I seem to be cut from the same cloth. Her dad also has quite the dry, sarcastic wit. May God have mercy on them during her teenage years.

Never seen it’s a wonderful life and have it on to see how far I can get. Son said he would rather watch a blank tv than that stuff. It is pretty dry.

I've always enjoyed it especially the B&W version. I've always thought the message of it is pretty good though it seems cheesy today.

Finished it’s a wonderful life. It was ok. Probably can wait a few years til I see it again. Good plot and nice show but I still prefer die hard for a Christmas movie.

Merry Christmas marching band peeps. Just did my last minute end of the year donations and saw "Marching Band" on the list of thingies you could direct donations to, so added that and minus'd athletics some. I know and like a lot of band alumni, I don't know any athletes so makes sense to me.

SO had two pretty epic meals in a row.....Christmas Eve the vixen and I shared some venison tenderloin and dungeness crab (FedEx'd from our daughter Kylee out in Washington). Then yesterday at her parents' house, we feasted on some pretty awesome prime rib.

Looks like yours truly will be working the exercise bike pretty hard the next few weeks.

Oh, and I forgot - Christmas Eve day the garage door opener took a dump on us. So for a couple days we'll have to operate it manually.

One of those things you really take for granted until it gets messed up.
