Is your daughter playing soccer now or is it just reffing time for her?
They had their last regular season game earlier this week. She picked up reffing a game last night because they were paying 60 bones for a center. She is doing summer training at her school 4 days a week and her team still has the USA Cup later this summer. They still have an outside chance of qualifying for State, but I am not holding my breath on that one. They really needed a win in their last game and I don't think the draw is going to cut the mustard. Frankly, I think it is better if they concentrate on just the Cup or State, not both since they overlap.

I just realized how many old man phrases I just used in that paragraph. If the shoe fits...

Lilacs are the weeds of the shrub family, no wonder they got nipped. I'd have sympathy if it were an actual shrub of value damaged. ;)
I like lilacs for a lot of the reason they are considered weeds. They are hardy and can be planted in places like along highways because they need essentially no care. It is fun in the spring time to realize that those non-descript bushes you see year round all over the place are actually flowering. They smell good too when flowering; remind me that it is spring.

So the vixen's 40-year class reunion is this weekend, and yours truly has been tabbed to drive his pick-up while pulling a flatbed trailer so they can all ride in the annual Manson Crater Days parade.

I'm thinking this will be a nice thing to add to my resume.

Well you'll score good husband points for those good deeds. :);)

I was curious. I actually thought of her recently because one of our neighbor girls just had to have ACL surgery due to a soccer injury.

Apparently girls are more susceptible than boys. They may want to ask the ortho surgeon/ physical trainers if they see anything that might have contributed. They told my daughter that her hips were loose (be gentle with the TWSS comments here, I'm a sensitive dad ;)) and that it was only a matter of time. The PT said that he would get her hips strengthened up so it wouldn't be an issue in the future. She has exercises that she has to do at minimum before every practice and game.

Girls generally don’t have the quads that boys have and that is why more susceptible

Family story: Approximate age of me - 6, which would make my sister 3. I believe we were at a family birthday party for my grandmother at her condo. For whatever we were eating, we were using plastic utensils. We're getting ready to eat, and we can't find the knives. My sister had grabbed them all and put them somewhere for whatever reason. (No worries, they weren't somewhere gross, like the garbage or toilet) My grandma asks my sister (not angry, mostly teasing) "Why? Why did you take the knives? How are we going to spread the butter?" I, actually not knowing what the phrase meant, but had heard it enough before, say "Yes! How are we going to cut the mustard?" I don't think I ever saw my grandmother laugh that hard at anything in my life.

Still don't know why my sister took the knives.

Things I've learned, my car doesn't have power steering in the old conventional way, it has electrical assisted steering. it can turn it self off randomly. It resets after you turn the car off and restart it. Guess it's like rebooting a computer. So far it's only happened once started looking for leaks or the power steering fill couldn't find it called my mechanic and he explained that it's electric now.
