Great to hear that she was able to make it through and follow her dream! Was it mainline or a regional?

Regional (Compass). It's my understanding that piloting is one of the more cut and dry "do your time and move up" careers and she's been doing it for almost a year now. She'll get there. Just a matter of when.

Yup. I figured it was a long shot to be mainline this quick but it is not unheard of. I wouldn't be shocked to if she had the opportunity to promote to captain soon which would be good experience to have before moving to the mainline. Airlines are 100% seniority based so you have to pay your time before you get to live decently.

Thursday. The wall is only a couple feet away from the out of bounds line. I went for a block and instantly knew my ankle was facing the wrong way.

The EMT people at work got stuck in the elevator trying to get to me. They also thought I could initially walk home on it...they wish.

Anyways, I've been gone awhile. Anyone got cliffnotes?

You got hurt, stuff got weird. Here we are.

Anyone else watching the Chernobyl mini series on HBO? Pretty interesting, especially since it’s mostly based on facts (little bit of dramatic license and then there are the spotty records from the Soviet Union as well)

Be interesting to here from those on here who were around when it actually happened (I was around, but most 1 yr olds aren’t to concerned with nuclear reactors and global politics)

I'm pretty sure nothing has aphrodisiac type power. Therefore, responding to yourself seems appropriate.

It was the end of my senior year of high school so I wasn't paying as much attention as I should have. Mostly, I remember the Russian authorities trying to pretend like it wasn't that big of an issue. First, there was the radioactive cloud over Scandinavia which forced russia to admit that there was a problem. After a while, you started to realize how big of an area it was that was being evacuated, which still didn't seem like a huge deal. Then it came out that they wouldn't be able to move back. That seemed like a big deal.
