Was dumb and engaged an old friend who I have had disagreements in the past with on the band thing on FB. After two posts back and forth I just basically said we are not going to agree and wished him well.

It was nice to wake up and see people went through and did some background checking on the reporter as well to find countless racist and homophobic posts of his own.

Took LittleWx on a short bike ride on a trail last night. By short I mean it was I think 1.6 miles and took about one hour since he had to say hi to everyone on the trail, stop every 100 feet it seemed like and take a 5 minute break to watch a deer eat. Very much enjoyed it.

This whole Sleazy ass Hawkeye band thing has me so pissed off. I want to say something about it in one of the threads but figure I'll end up getting a timeout.

All this rhetoric ignores one convenient fact - college kids are going to do stupid things from time to time (especially if alcohol is involved). Neither school can claim immunity from their students acting like dicks on occasion.

But after seeing the video, and learning that the Iowa band intentionally exited through the wrong gate - and then blared their instruments and undoubtedly whooped it up in front of a disappointed (drunk?) crowd, it's easy to understand what happened.

The whole thing is a tempest in a teapot.

Depending when it finished loading you may have been right on your update prediction.

It was pretty close. Neither were unexpected to be done before supper time. Reloaded Windows 7 once and I'd swear it took hours and hours to update. This started with loading Windows 10 from a DVD almost three years old. Was not expecting it to be as quick or seamless as it was. Downloading a free Norton antivirus from Comcast was more difficult (free with Comcast). It kept wanting to link me to Norton to buy it and not just download/load for free.

I got a virus and had to reload 7 once. I think I spent 24-36 hours doing Windows Updates to get current. That was about a year before Windows 10 so there were lots of updates.

After seeing the video of them marching right in the the crowd I am actually surprised it didn't result in a near riot. Luckily by then the exiting crowd at the tail end was likely the more mellow "lets wait a few minutes to exit" group and not a bunch of pissed off drunks. Imagine being in the crowd with a little kid when 250 band members try and crash/march there way through.

KCCI reported last night that the Iowa band actually disregarded instructions to exit through the east end and went through the west end instead. I'd bet they were dying to rub a little salt in the wound.

And yeah, I'd cut them slack for that - our band would probably want to do the same thing. Just not a good idea when drunk and disappointed people are around. Why poke the bear?

My brain hurts from today...

1) The whole band debacle...which hits closer to home than some since husband experienced very similar stuff first hand over 20 years ago
2) Iowa's continued weirdness over the whole thing...and STILL not on the same page
3) Other personal stupid stuff, which includes for me a sore throat which usually is a harbinger to a cold
4) DSM Register numbnut who thinks he's some hardcore investigative journalist

And most of all...
5) Found out my MIL has cancer

Shoot effin' cancer into the far side of the moon. :(

Oh, SaraV, I'm so sorry - especially about the last. I so wish for the day when we say cancer is something that used to happen to people.

I thought GTO was that Greek basketball player that was on our team for a year.

I'm sorry. That stinks. You and your MIL have my thoughts and prayers.

If they just wanted to be dicks they could have just stopped before the crowd and played their ******* fight song but they marched right into the crowd that had no place to go to yield to them. I am glad no kids or fans have been reported as injured. As far as the band? **** them and their leadership. I don't give two ***** about any injuries they incurred. I'd cut them some slack if some fans dragged one of them off and beat them or something but nothing like that appears to have occurred.

So you are indifferent on the Iowa band?

This might be in one of the "Carson King" related threads, but I'm staying away for now.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is how you write a social media statement; https://www.facebook.com/pg/GeneseoBrewing/posts/
And by the way, one reply tells GBC to direct message him because he responds to people. GBC's reply: "I don’t know the guy or I would have. Not trying to just slip into someone’s DM’s. Figured someone around here knew him... didn’t realize it would blow up like this though."
