Sent out a January newsletter at work yesterday and got a whole slew of "automatic replies." I always look at these, because occasionally they'll say something like "John Smith has retired from XYZ. Please send future messages to so-and-so."
This time was different with four messages in a row from FSA-USDA employees. Although the format differed from message to message, the content was the same.

Also, heard from a colleague who was on a conference call for a professional association yesterday that at USDA only the director is working.
I've also notices at the top of a couple of our financial institution like this: "If you are a federal government employee and currently on furlough due to the government shutdown, please ask one of our team members how we can help."
