Random Thoughts 18: The Year of Fire

Friend of ours birthday is today. Wife texts her and finds out she is driving to Minnesota with their dog to see a dog cardiologist. For the love of pete...

I can't fault her too much. We have gone through expensive treatments for several of our cats. Milo just did the radioactive iodine thing last summer. He's back to his pre-thyroid self, and I love it. He turned 11 in September, so he has a lot of living ahead of him.
Some of our medical choices for our cats are due to whether or not it's for us or for them. She may have made that same choice.

Edit:
A lot of pet medical treatments should be tempered by the amount of disposable income a person has...if she's doing this at the expense of family needs, you might have a point.

I took my 2012 Enclave in for an oil change and the check engine light came on last Friday. It had been 3K miles since the last change. They said it was four quarts low and likely burning oil. Mechanic said they could only slow it down at this point. It has around 162K miles on it.

Should I be looking for a different vehicle or just regularly check the oil and add when needed?

I had this dream last night I had this large round turd in my pants and I could not find an empty stall in any of the bathrooms in my old high school, of which I graduated from back in '83, to get rid of it. I wonder what El Azteca put in my food and mango margarita last night. Weird to say the least.

I have had many dreams where I am trying to pee and every toilet is a gross disgusting mess. Then I wake up and have to pee. It's like my inner mind knows I have to pee and so I start dreaming about it. One of these days I hope to be able to realize that while in the dream because I fear one of these days I'll find a suitable toilet in my dream and just let it fly.

Went to a PT appointment yesterday. Had an ISU shirt on.

On the way out I hear a 'Go Hawks' and turn around to just kind of laugh because I thought they were just having a little fun.

Instead the guy looked dead serious like he was asserting himself in the room when personally I couldn't name 5 Iowa Hawkeye athletes across their entire sports world.

And THAT's why I hate them.

Wife loves the look of the new sink she picked. I look and say I’m worried about it being lower and the plumbing working. I just left as the plumber pulled the sawzall out to lower the sink plumbing.

I mean technically it will theoretically function the same. It was matching the existing fit that you were worried about.

I found this cool little ornament and had several made up for me & my sisters. You can choose from 3 backgrounds and up to five states or countries. I used a different background for each of us, and each sister has her state at the top. Note that this is the example. Our states are Iowa, Texas & Washington.

I need to get under the sink and clean out the pipe from the disposal to the main drain. Something has to be stuck in there as the water from that side drains extreeeeeemely slow.

This is embarrassing to say but I'm going to say it.

About 15 years ago I was having a needing to pee dream where I actually started peeing in the dream and woke up having wet the bed a bit. I was so embarrassed because I was in bed with Mrs. Velo but she found it secretly hilarious. She didn't give me too bad of a time about it because she saw how supremely embarrassed I was about it. I have no recollection whether or not alcohol may have been involved...

Only time I can ever remember wetting the bed.

So to compound your fears, @Cyclones_R_GR8, it could happen.

Dang 4 quarts low or a quart low? 4qts signifies major problems IMO.
Maybe moniter it this cycle checking it every 500 miles or so, preferably check it with every tank of gas.

********. Everything on Amazon right now is 5-6 days out. I placed an order Tuesday that still hasn't shipped.

There's a massive Amazon warehouse 7 minutes from me, it opened 5 years ago and I haven't had one single order come from there. They deliver items themselves to Janesville, which is 15 minutes away, but not to where I live. I don't get it.

I have an Amazon warehouse just up the street. It's sits there empty. I guess they built it so it's ready to go if they decide they need it.
