I know it happens everywhere but Crdar Rapids seems to have an abundance of bicyclist with loud speaker blaring with obnoxious music to boot.
Daughter is on a 10 day run and had to work through the weekend at her summer job. Son wanted to bike ride to see her so we were riding a bunch of trails to get there. We were on one stretch on a bit of an uphill so we weren't going too fast, probably 12-15 mph. We started coming up on a family so I was preparing to move left and call out, "on your left" to pass when suddenly a guy on one of those one wheeled electric unicycle things whizzed right by my left shoulder unannounced doing at least 25.

It is dangerous enough to pass people without announcing yourself but he could see we were coming up on someone we were about to pass and he still said nothing. I hollered at him to sing out when passing, but of course he was wearing over-ear headphones so he probably didn't hear me anyway.

I think electric vehicles like that are great at getting people out and active who might not otherwise want to or be able to get out, but it also puts a lot of people out there who are going faster than their skills should allow and with zero awareness of the etiquitte of the trail.

Not exactly sure.

Dude is doing 25 mph on a unicycle. He pretty much owns the road brother.

Not really a unicycle. I don't know what they call these things...

It's 5:45 a.m. and my ~18 month old ("Tractor. Tractor. Tractor.") wants to go outside to see the JD lawn tractor... I hope he's this anxious to jump on the mower when he's able to use it to mow the yard.

I never would have guessed which team this logo was for. (1949-1967 logo of current NFL team).

Houston Astros started as the Colt 45's.

BTW, if you ever see a sports trivia quizz with "What famous player hit the first home run in the Astrodome?" don't think National League player even though they were a National League team. Answer is Mickey Mantle in an exhibition game.

Can he say the 'TR' sound?

Years ago when my mom had a passel of little kids and so did a neighbor they had an agreement that once a week one mom would take all of the kids for a few hours so each mom would get just a little time without constant kids. Well one of the other ladies' kids was a toddler who loved trucks, however he couldn't say the 'TR' sound but instead it came out as a 'F'. Keep in mind this was the late '60s/early '70s so there weren't really car seats and a kid would likely be standing up in the back seat around town shouting out the open window. My mom said she had never encountered so many trucks. That kid was shouting and pointing out the window at the top of his lungs, "Phuck, phuck, phuck!!!"

Lol that's a funny story - reminds me of my nephew trying to say "frog" where "-og" was more "-uk". But no, he's got the pronunciation down pretty solid which I think is part of the problem. Seems he's stoked to be communicating using words and not just gestures.
