Ugh. Youngest (2 year old) got a fever Friday night which morphed into hives on Saturday. Yesterday and especially last night she was extremely itch and inconsolable when the Benadryl wore off. Hopefully the second dose of steroids helps today.
My sons came home from preschool with chicken pox. The older one (3.5yo) wasn't too bad, but I had to be with the 2yo 24/7 because he got them so bad. Oatmeal baths for the itching, gloves on his hands to prevent him from scratching, and keeping him wrapped in my arms nearly constantly for several days. He STILL ended up with scars, and I can still see the one on his temple to this day. He's nearly 45.

Yeah I think we are heading toward another bath here soon.

Trying to potty train my 3-year old son. He had a #2 accident this morning. I had to spend at least 20 minutes cleaning up sh*t this morning before I headed to work. Not a great start to the week. He did pee on the potty at least.

Sounds like strep to me. It's all over my part of Eastern Iowa as we approach the end of the school year.

Not drinking much alcohol lately given all of the drugskis's I taking for the impinged nerve. I do like something with my meal and saw 1919 root beer on sale at my grocery. I almost never drink soda but grabbed a few to sample. Good stuff brewed locally in MN. No corn syrup. No caffeine. Real vanilla. Boxster thumbs up.

Lew is pretty much off alcohol because of the meds he's taking. He is allowed a VERY occasional beer or glass of wine. NBD - we don't really drink much anyway.

Ha, I remember that happening to me as a little kid 60 plus years ago. The hives and the back of my hands swelled all up like crazy. Left an impression I have not forgotten.

Measles make you bumpy and mumps'll make you lumpy
And chicken pox'll make you jump and twitch
A common cold'll cool you and whooping cough'll fool you
But poison ivy, lord'll make you itch

You're gonna need an ocean
Of calamine lotion
You'll be scratching like a hound
The minute you start to mess around

GF wants me to have her cremated, then carry around her ashes with me in a fanny pack. And refer to ourselves as "we" whenever I go out in public. She thinks this is hilarious.

Might have to change my avatar. I am worried my biking days may be over. Been battling neck/shoulder/arm pain along with a numb thumb and tingling digits. And it's an impinged C6 nerve. Even layman me could tell which vertebra it was on the x-ray. Even if this settles down I am thinking they will recommend no biking since moving neck up to see ahead is what really kicks my ass. Taking some anti-inflammatories and heading to therapy next week. Worse case is they have to go in and grind out some of the bone spurs and other bone growth. Best case is it settles down and the bulge reabsorbs over the next couple of months. Since it's been this way for years and didn't punch me out till now gives me some hope to return to more normal.
Time for a recumbent or a trike. You would be sitting in a more natural position for the head and neck.
