My guess it that Kansas plays Florida again, Texas plays Kentucky, and we get either Tennessee, Georgia, or Arkansas. I would hope for Tennessee next season out of the 3, because Georgia isn't very good and Arkansas is a really tough place to win at.

Should also note that lots of scheduling gets done at the Final Four so this is a busy week on that front. I'll write more about it in tomorrow's mailbag.

Yes! Mailbag tomorrow! Will we get to see what stretchclone's "look in your inbox" message was?

RIP "hey chris..." thread.

Kansas played Florida this year, and I believe they are already scheduled to be in a tourney with Kentucky. I would be surprised to see them paired with either of those teams, even though they are projected to be tops.

Anybody predicting UK vs KU needs to note this. They are once again in that 4 team deal that they did this season in Chicago with UK, Michigan State, and Duke I believe. So given that, they won't be matched up with Kentucky. The logical next step would be another KU Florida matchup, as the Gators are the only other elite team in the SEC.

Given that will likely get picked around 3rd or 4th in the league with Kane and Ejim leaving, Kentucky will probably get paired up with someone like Texas. Once again, if repeated matchups aren't a concern you could see UK and Baylor again. That would likely leave us with one of the second tier teams like Tennessee, Mizzou, or Vandy.

KU should play Missouri. They won't, but they should. Too much common sense involved in that theory though. No way it happens.

To tell you the truth I'm glad Kansas won't play Mizzou. After this, no Big 12 team should ever play them again:

Missouri chose this path. They were sniffing the Big 10 and got rejected, then went to the SEC. This is their bed.

Give Mizzou a home game vs TCU. A game that will have absolutely no upside and hurt them even if they win.

With 0 research done on who either UK or UF lose/recruit, give me UK every day of the week.

Billy Donovan (sorry for this) "does things the right way" meaning that almost no matter who they lose this off-season they will still be a healthy mix of veterans and young guys. All of which are extremely athletic and tenacious defenders who actually play as a team.

UK, on the other hand, will be almost entirely made up of freshman who have never played together (except for on the McDonalds AA teams together) that while RIDICULOUSLY talented will have no sense of cohesion/chemistry at that point in the season. So, again, give me Kentucky in that challenge.

Just wrote a whole blog about this instead. After making a few more calls, sounds like Vandy and Tennessee are the clubhouse leaders to host Iowa State but nobody really knows. Pretty much a crapshoot.

Would not be disappointed with Tennessee, coming off an NCAA tourney run of their own and everything.
Vandy is kind of "meh", but they look like they've got a decent class coming next year.

Beating Tennessee would be a nice poke to EIU!
