That TD that was called back was vintage pump and go.

He was fine, needs to clean up a few plays and execute better on third down. AKA seasons over burn your tickets.

People on here saying he didn't play well. 30-41, 278, 2 TDs, no picks. Seems like a good line to me. And he threw himself on that fumble to save the the V. Team is confident with him in charge. Offense may need work but it will get there. Looking forward to him torching the Hawks.

He’s a great kid and a great teammate and leader. He’s a very good quarterback with the potential to be great.

Can’t wait to see what happens with him. He has the it factor. We haven’t had many QB’s like that here, at least ones with their heads screwed on right (still love you Waye Terry).

Yeah but he fumbled the ball 10 yards down field in a throwing motion

Yeah I don't get that either. His arm is going forward, the ball went forward 5 yards - how could the replay official miss that? He had to have been paid!

Yeah, I don’t know how there’s people on here saying it was a fumble still. I get the miss call in real time, but not reversing it after replay was a travesty.

I totally understand having the refs let it go, because it wasn't SUPER obvious in real-time and if you call the play dead, you can't re-do everything that happens afterwards. Which has burned ISU in the past, so I'm okay with that.

But then to **** up the call on the replay, when it's clear there was forward throwing motion and everything... just ridiculous.

His fumble recovery was seriously a legit athletic play. He was basically 5 yards away from the ball and found his way into the pile. Was kind of funny when he popped up with the ball like 'ISU ball, here's your evidence.'

His release is quick and his short passes were on target with touch.

The rest is up to the Oline making a team commit to the run.

As I recall, Campbell said something like, “I was worried until I saw who got up from the bottom of the pile.”

Looks like he has more zip on the ball than last year. The two TD's were bullets.

Purdy wasn’t the only stud on the field. We have a poster who apparently didn’t mind any of the penalty announcements whatsoever.
