I believe the OP is "that guy"

... not to be confused with fellow CF poster "thatguy" who is an entirely different guy... presumably. At least, it's his site.

Actually I think OP is Ted Flint and the guy that wrote the article is Steven Moldovan based on my highly deductive reasoning of seeing the article says it's written by Steven Moldovan. It is however possible that Steven Moldovan is CF poster "thatguy" which would make this all very confusing.

That said saying we should pump the brakes is pretty weird. I don't think anyone was looking to book hotels to various tournament sites yet. It's pretty well know we have a brutal conference schedule coming up and even with our very encouraging start could very well finish toward the bottom of our conference standings.

There really aren't easy wins in conference this year so yeah we still have a lot of work to do.

I don’t know why it had to be so extreme. It will be hard to make the tournament but we are in position to do it.

It would be nice if those (not the original poster) who seem so he’ll bent on dashing everyone’s hopes, would not be the first ones to completely lose their **** when we lose a game.

Yes, 'hard' can be a good thing.

Well guys, I hate to break it to you. If we don't win games, we won't make the tournament. I know that is hard to hear for some, but it's the truth.

Kind of like the genius yesterday that said RPI doesn’t matter now because we’d have to win 8 more games to have a to 50 RPI.

You are definitely the most observant poster in here so far. Thankfully my bud Stanzi let me through the filter to get this account up so I can chat with you guys.

Most are missing my main point, which was that even if we win our next 3 games, odds are still against us making the tourney. I absolutely never read anything on these forums, as I waste most of my time on twitter (https://twitter.com/Moldy78). But on twitter there was sentiment that 2-1 conference start would put us on track to make the tourney, and I also thought that until I looked at the numbers which basically say that even with a 3-0 conference start it will still be 50/50.

But thank you all for the overwhelmingly positive feedback.

Hopefully we catch some brakes in conference and can get into the field of 64.

Freaking mainstream media and now the blog media are all trying to tell us how to think. No one except these two entities have stepped on the accelerator and now they are telling us to pump the brakes? Whatever man.

I have ABS, so I don't pump the brakes, I gently push it down.

The BIG 12 is stacked, it will be a brutal brawl with the Ninth best team at home. It is to much to ask this team to win 11 games in conference.

The good news is we probably only need 8.

Nine wins in Non Conf, Tennessee is a loss. Eight wins in Conf, One win in BIG 12 Tourney, You think 18 wins is good enough to get into the NCAA Tourney.....:)

8 and split Tennessee/Game #1 in KC would do it imo. Worked for KSU last year, although like I said in the article that may only get us into the play in game which obviously isn't the real tourney.
