If by class act you mean laying off tons of works and diluting shares then ok, you are correct.
It would be much better if they went out of business! Damn free enterprise, how dare they do whatever it takes to survive.
Oh and if you measure class by what wall street says then you have major issues. They caused this crap to begin with.
Also PFG took TARP so in my opinion they are garbage.

Really? When was this? They applied, were approved just recently, but haven't taken one dime yet and don't know if they will. Do you have inside info? Or are you just spouting off all uninformed?

Since I'm not a subscriber, I cant read much of this article but they have a target stock price of $20 a share ?

They have a period of time after they're approved to decide whether or not to take the funds.
Take TARP / Issue more stock - it's all the same either taxpayers interest free loan or shareholder stock dilution..

Very, very few people on this board "trash" Principal. At most people are just confused at the continual piecemeal layoffs.
Some people are a little hypersensitive about this. Nobody is above criticism.
Trouble Asset Relief Program, a loan you have to pay back with interest.
