This is getting worse by the minute for us. I was thinking about this last night. If the Big10 doesnt accept Mizzou and the Big12 blows apart with the South 5 + Colorado goes to the Pac10 that leaves BU, KSU, KU, ISU, MU. Our obvious landing spot after that is the MWC, but the problem becomes the 9 team MWC may only add 3 teams and go to 12 just to get to a championship game. We have a serious problem if the MWC decides to add KSU, KU, and MU. KSU and KU are tied at the hip and KU basketball alone will get them in. That leaves it between ISU and MU and I have a hard time believing the MWC is going to choose the DSM market over STL/K.C.

God help us if Mizzou gets left at the altar. I was once agianst public groveling, but Pollard and Geoffery need to start.

KU and KSU are not tied. Having said that, I still think they will try to stay together. I think the MWC goes big and adds Boise and another team too. That still doesn't make us a lock because of CU and Baylor in the mix but I would argue we bring more to the table than either of those teams and honestly despite recent basketball success we bring more than KSU.

Actually, Mizzou being left behind helps us immensely (potentially).

Mizz to the B10 is a huge blow to ISU academically.

Please expand on this, because i dont see it.

It's more likely that the B12 "merge" with a new conference such as Big East leftoevers or the MWC. It's more likely that 5 teams would be a package deal rather than 4.

Wow. I disagree entirely.

If there are 5 big 12 teams left we retain the big 12 name and contracts and invite the teams of our choice. We already have national TV contracts and an automatic BCS qualification. Mizzou staying leaves us the St. Louis market for any future TV negotiations as well as 1 more school to stick around. Granted I don't know for sure that there are stipulations in those contracts for if the membership changes. Even if they do the Big 12 could invite the top of the MWC without getting stuck with the undesierables like Wyoming.

I think its safe to say all the Big East will be swallowed by the Big10, SEC, ACC. I dont foresee any leftovers. I guess we better hope the MWC is prepared to go to 16. Personally i dont know that they are, also I really dont want to see Baylor included. They really dont deserve to be in a major conference.

I don't think the SEC expands at all. I see 4 Big-East teams being available.

There's just not enough info right now to know if it's a positive or negative in regards to Mizzou getting left. Everyone acts like there is just one potential outcome that is already locked in stone.

This whole thing is one big pecking order, with the B10/ND determining how the first step goes.

Then the Pac 10/UT (and friends) are up next. Colorado could come into play here also.

Then after some of the dust settles the SEC will make a move. This could be a potential home for Mizzou if they are left out. Missouri borders AR, TN and KY.

Then the ACC gets their chance to raid the Big East depending on how many teams are pulled to the B10/SEC.

Then the Big East will probably be looking for teams. Hopefully we along with the other misfits from the B12 can go with them. If that doesn't work, the MWC will be the next stop.

You are correct. IMO, having Mizzou left out of the Big Ten is a good thing. The remainder of us left get to split a big pot of money from those leaving. Plus with rights to contracts, names and BCS qualification, we would be in position to actually do something. Have full revenue sharing. Move the league offices back to Kansas City.

A core of teams like Kansas, K-State, Mizzou, and ISU would be a good start.

You honestly think the SEC is going to sit and watch all this happen without doing something? Give some of what your smokin, the SEC is much like TU. They wont sit back and be outdone, especially by some yankees.

I completely disagree. Including Missouri in the Forgotten 5 gives us much more leverage to have other schools from non-BCS conferences (Utah, TCU, BYU, Boise) join us.

The thing about the SEC is that they don't need to expand. They will continue to be the most powerful conference, and make a **** load of $. They already have CBS as the SEC Network, and adding teams dilutes their revenue share.

The SEC doesn't need to do ****.

You're going to need at least 6 Big 12 teams to prevent the conference from being dissolved under Delaware law (by which the Big 12 Conference is incorporated).
