The road has never been friendly to any ISU coach.

That was one I really think we should have had. Far too many times we just chucked up a three and didn't put in work on the offensive end. Couple that with another really slow start on the road and here we are.

UT up next. Bring the pain Hilton!

That was just so bad. I think it may be time to look to start McKay in favor of Bryce. For all the good Fred has done, I just can't figure out why we seem to go on the road against bad teams and completely fall apart. I really think our inability to take care of opponents we should that's keeping us from taking the "next step".

This team will not make a deep tournament run if they don't toughen up mentally. Hope they do, but at this point, it scares me.

I think the most disappointing thing is just knowing that KU will likely win the conference... again. That really sucks.

This is kind of Hoiball in a nutshell a lot of times. Lots of possessions=some really stupid possessions and bad defense.

I've lurked CF for awhile now, but i need to say something about this team. First, i had some issues with deandre kane last year even though i know he is a great player but its clear now more than ever that without him we just aren't mentally tough enough. We get down big, we panic, we jack up threes and try to make it up immediately to catch up, and we don't even run our offense. Second, we need to feed Niang in the post. He is an inside out player not an outside in player. If we get him on the block he can finish down low, pass, or set a pick and pop/roll. That was the foundation of our offense last year and we haven't done it consistently at all this year.

...which comes back to the Big 12 not really being that good, because KU isn't that good.

We came out looking good in the first couple minutes and then Tech looked like a middle of the pack Big 12 team instead of 0-6 for the next 30 minutes of game time. Bad loss for Iowa State. There really is no way to shake it. May have lost us the Big 12 title unless we really go on a run or get some help from other teams. On March 7th, a loss to what will be the last place team in the conference will be very hard to swallow if we are within a game of the top.

Ku has lost at TCU and Tech on the road, but when they did they won at places like Texas, KSU, and other tough venues to make up for it. ISU had not been able to do that.

I maintain that all ISU athletic woes, in the past, currently and in future are directly effected by the little known "Curse of Squaw Creek". A decedent of the formally long running "Curse of the Bambino" that Boston endured for decades. However I am not sure the CSC (Curse of Squaw Creek) will ever be overcome.

It's not the players, the coaches, the referees, the fans, the weather or bad luck. It is simply the CSC.

I know Matt Thomas made some clutch threes at the end of the first half. But he missed some wide-open threes in critical stretches of the game. I know others had missed shots down the stretch. But damn, Thomas!!!

I'm not sure I'd call it road woes, but whatever.

If anything is going to wake these guys up to the fact that they don't automatically get a win by walking into the building, hopefully this is it.

Not a lot of bright spots , but Matt was one. Dustin fought his *** off too. Glad it's a quick turnaround to Texas.

I am going to be honest. We like to start games by jacking threes. We do not stop until it is almost too late. We need to put in the hard work on offense instead of jacking up threes. First half it seemed like 1 for 10 on threes. Why? Wwe do not shoot the thgrees very well when we are floating to the side. The body position on the first half threes several times showed the shooter floating sideways and not squared up fully.
