I thought Percy was much improved. He still has a way to go on rebounding though.

Not sure about that statement....getting a bit carried away I think.

Really? I think SDW/Long/KJ/Percy aren't starter material (maybe Long is) but I think they can all come in and give solid minutes. Edozie is raw, he isn't going to give us 20 minutes a game obviously but I think we have a very deep, athletic and talented team.

I was completely shell-shocked at first. With the departure of Babb, McGee, Lucious, Clyburn, and Booker, I expected to see a lot of new faces this year...but man, I barely recognized 1 face on that team! It's going to be really fun watching this team grow and find its identity in the upcoming weeks/months.

I would still expect that many games in OOC. A lot of these guys need to get a feel for the college game and that can take time so the doomsday crowd needs to keep that in mind going forward.

Fun to watch, Kane is good, hopefully really good. I would like to but won't dive into the kool aid completely until competition picks up but certainly not disappointed. We won't have to wait long to see what the story is - Nov 17th is going to be a big game for us.

Until Melvin is back, sure. But in theory, it should be stronger than last year when he returns. We lost Booker but added two bruisers.

IF you think Edozie and Percy will compete against quality BCS bigs, you are insane. Percy was the same percy but just looked better against a D2 opponent. Edozie is raw like many have already stated. Niang needs to play better because he will be leaned on a ton.

We're probably going to have entire games like the first half we had tonight, so everyone should expect some frustration. Come March though, these guys could really be clicking.

Agreed. We are very thin in the frontcourt. Kane's rebounding is going to help some with that, but in B12 play he won't be able to do that as easily. I'm not sure why everyone is happy/ok with Gibson...because a couple of the shots went in? To me it was the same as always. Each and every time he got the ball, it was an awkward left-handed shot. Again, not a single pass all game.

That said, Morris and Kane looked great. Thomas looked very good. Niang didn't have a great game, but we know what we have with him and Mel. I need to see more out of Houge/Gibson/Endozie because George and Mel will get in foul trouble and we will need them.

Kane has All-Big 12 potential.

Morris could start for this team.

Kane and Hogue can rebound in the absence of Ejim, imagine when he's back.

The inexperiece showed early but once they got in a rhythm they looked good.

Morris just said that Melvin was the leader during halftime.

I have to think the hand checking rule change will help Monte this year. He is pretty light right now so it will help him not to get pushed around.

Morris was much quicker than I expected. He plays with a lot of confidence.

I think Thomas and SDW are better than Long. Naz looks like the same player as last season.

Overall, I was very pleased with what I saw. We know Niang can play better and Melvin is our best player. What we found out tonight is Kane is a stud and our freshman were worthy of their rankings.

We still have our core frontcourt from last year, so unless you think Ejim and Niang forgot how to play I don't see the problem. I feel like you're in pre-meltdown mode and I cannot figure out why!

percy put in some quality minutes and was under control for the most part. niang seemed like a liability out there. its just an exhibition and I wouldn't count percy out yet

One complaint, and one complaint only...wish we would have more sets to get Thomas an open 3. All 3 of his threes were either in transition or due to slow defensive rotation. Would love to see Hoiberg try and get him more looks. Not complaining, just an observation. Great to have basketball back!

I like that Thomas's points came when we needed them and the game was tight. He wasn't afraid to take the shot. I thought Percy looked alright also. I seen him pass out of a double team.

I was surprised SDW played 19 minutes. I though he'd be 4th off the bench and play about 7-12 minutes. That being said I thought he provided some good minutes. He looked better than Long, IMO. I think going forward we will go 10 deep at most. Not sure how much Bluford and Edozie will play.

Wrong. He got the ball in the post three times. He passed out on one of them. His "awkward" shots were textbook dropstep hooks. Percy played well and Fred mentioned the same thing in the postgame, but I'm sure you know better.

What is it that you expect Percy to do? When a post player gets the ball in the post, he should look to score. If his move doesn't work, he should look opposite or kick it out. I only saw one shot by Percy that looked forced. He's a post player off the bench. He's not going to average 10 and 6.
