Who has been better in central Iowa than Deace in any sort of recent history?

Saw the title and thought...hey look, this is going to be a bunch of people complaining about Deace....

Yup.

FWIW, I don't think there's a better podcast crew than CW, Adam, or Brent.

(^^^^shameless play for 'likes', I'll admit it)

I liked the podcast, the exact scores are pretty irrelavent. I was in the Iowa student section as a sophmore at that 1998 game. That was a great memory. By the end of the game the like 20 ISU fans were left standing cheering and waving at each other. The Iowa students just sat in stunned silence. I still don't remember what the score was.

One could also ask who is smarter, Einstein or Galileo....what's better, a Ferrari or a Porsche...what's the best bacon, applewood, or hickory smoked....but really, when we're talking this level of excellence, does it matter?

(I'm at it again)

One interesting thing that I got out of that interview was that Deace basically acknowledged that he only ran CycloneNation because he felt like he needed to be more knowledgeable about the local rivalry when he started his sports talk radio show back in the day. And that he mainly defaulted to liking the Cyclones because of his Michigan hatred for Iowa.

I miss Deace on sports radio. He was the best one in this market IMO.

Chris Williams said in the podcast and I thought he said the talent is better now then the 2005 team. I'm not sure about that. That 2005 team had a great defense. They had Leaders, Curvey, Berryman, Morehead on the D-line, Dobbins, Brown, Carper/Robertson at linebacker, Parris, Moser, Hicks, and Jackson as D-backs. That was a very good group. On offense they had Meyer, Blythe, Hicks, Flynn, and Kock (a GREAT short yardage back). I just do not see line backers like Brown, Dobbin and Robertson on this years team. There isn't any wideouts as good as Blythe, and that defensive line is vastly superior to this years D-line. I know this team is young but I don't think they have the raw talent that 2005 team had.

He said the over talent level from 2005 is not even comparable to what it is right now. He didnt specify which team had more talent, but Im going to assume he meant 2005 had more talent.

I look forward to more Deace podcasts. Thanks CW. Being right is boring, having insight and interesting anecdotes is entertaining

I enjoyed the segment. It's really to bad that the neanderthals/heathens that share my lack of religious conviction make such an effort to make stupid inane comments because Steve has his own convictions. Makes them look more ignorant and intolerant then the people they wish to mock.

Thank you. I was thinking the same thing. It is pretty obvious that some of the negative comments are because of Deuce's values and world view.

You don't have to agree with his politics and world view to enjoy his sports takes. I don't agree with all his politics, but when it comes to discussing sports, or more specifically college football, Deace is very good. He is entertaining too. I look forward to more podcast with him on.

I'd suggest CW and Deace do one of these at least weekly during the CFB season. Please?
