PODCAST: Discussing our beer collaboration with Barn Town Brewing

Ok guys. I went to chat with Pete from Barn Town on Friday about the beer collaboration. Here's what he had to say and where we are going with it.

Still looking for name ideas.

CyPA was used last year by Barn Town, believe it or not so looking for something different.

I kind of like Red Storm IPA ... Pete thought he could do some cool things with the label, lightning strikes and stuff.

Why did they do CyPA last year and was it good?

Red Storm makes me think of Simpson Collge or St. John's.

So no cans or bottles. The only people who will be drinking this in the lots will be ones lucky enough to get a crowler from the taproom.

Is it possible for them to partner with Kum and go for selling growlers? Both West Ames locations have growler stations. Either that or another brewery in Ames.

I know the above is a horrible example, as I'm no good at graphics. But they could call it Trice PA and do the logo similar to our I-State logo.

For some reason I can't get the "P" above to line up with the I in Trice and the A in State, but that was my intention.

So what? If Barn Town used the name CyPA, but no one on this forum mentioned it in a few weeks of discussion, does it really matter? I'm still voting for CyPA!

Red Storm is cool - but then it's not an Iowa State beer anymore. It's St. Johns.

I still have my crowler of Transfer Brew to drink. Wonder if it is still any good. Its been on a basement shelf.

FYI, I got crowler #50 for the transfer who I think made the most impact with relation to what CW calls "Transfer U." FocusTown!
