If you don't mind me asking what did you pay?

I paid $265 for the two tickets. We're in section 503, which isn't great, but to be at game 2 with Big Z going, I couldn't pass it up.

I may also have an extra ticket, as it looks like my friend is backing out on me...I'll keep you guys posted if anyone is interested.

I'll take 5-0 and a 1.97 ERA over the last 10 games as my "Wild Card" pitcher any day of the week.

This will be an interesting series and this write-up is the first serious one I've seen favoring the Dodgers. I think many of you are right - the 1st game is key. The Dodgers are 9 games under .500 on the road for the season and were much worse before finishing the season with a stretch of road games against inferior opponents.

Lowe has been on fire, but I know Dempster is great at Wrigley. I will say one thing, if Furcal is back and playing close to what he was before the injury - it's a series changer. The Dodgers will be able to juggle that line-up and make it very difficult to pitch around Manny.

Those five no decisions don't worry you at all?

Considering they pretty well shut him down the last two weeks, and skipped a start or two at the end of August.... and the Cubs had little to nothing to play for his last 2 or 3 starts?

Not really.

He gave up 13 runs in those ten games. If he gets 5 no decisions during that stretch, one of which accounted for 4 of those runs - I'm worried about the Cubs offense if anything.

Edit: He gave up 5 earned runs in those other 4 no decisions. I'd call that pretty damn good.

CrossCyed gets it...

If the problem is the pen, how does that make Harden the "wild card"?

If he can't get out of five that puts unneeded pressure on the bullpen.... Hey, I want the Cubs to win just as much as anyone... Just trying to be objective and get some discussion going...

Brewers - Phils preview almost ready, just waiting to here more about the Brewers rotation...

Look Balls, I'll conceed that you lost more baseball knowledge in your last haircut, than I'll ever have.

But I just don't see it. What more, I'm trying to figure how Harden isn't #2 right now, if not #1 - although Dempster has been nails in the Friendly Confines.

If there's any question about Harden, it's really just what is left in is arm and is he completely healthy after his little layoff. But statistically and recent performance wise, I can find little fault. Like I said, his last two games were no decisions. They were also meaningless. If I take anything out of them, it's that he gave up 11 walks across 10 innings. But still only 3 hits and 3 earned runs.

So I'm not putting alot of stock in his getting run out of games to the detriment of the bullpen.

For discussion, I think if anybody on the staff is a wildcard, clearly it's Big Z. That's true just about any game, second half of this season. He's certainly Jeckel and Hyde.

We can throw our closer in that discussion as well. I need a paper bag to breathe into when Woody comes out for the 9th.

I believe Harden is #3 only because of Z's ego. Plus I would rather have Z throw at home and Harden throw on the road.

Harden is a wild card because he's a five to six inning pitcher. He's VERY hard to score on while he's pitching, so I don't agree with Ballz' prediction that he will get hit around, but he is not as valuable as a guy that you can count on to go 7 or 8 innings -- especially in the playoffs, and especially when your middle relief consists of Bobby Howry.

I think the Cubs win this series, but it's not a slam dunk.

Peter Gammons picks the Dodgers, mainly because the Dodgers top 3 starters are right handed against the Cubs heavily right-handed hitting line-up. But the Cubs have the home field advantage and it should be a great series.

The Cubs really haven't had a problem scoring runs all season... They did play a lot of right handers in 162 games... I think...

So I just got my tickets. They are e-tickets that I bought on ebay. Should I be concerned that the person printed them off for themselves as well?
