This is actively being talked about as part of the alliance. At this time the big ten has no plans to add schools, the ACC really can't without decreasing their payouts, and the PAC might stand still in an agreement with the big ten to not poach their schools. Conversations already begun with USC and that is what forced the Alliance. SEC expansion caught everyone off guard and the Big Ten would rather things just stay how they are.

it is a little weird you get information from inside sources, and share it on fan sites of schools not affiliated with the alliance.

have you joined other fansites to do this?

and, wouldn’t a source, or sources, with intimate knowledge of a negotiation, that hasn’t even publicly started, not want any information released?

The big ten really doesn't want anything to change but if they have to expand they want to look at the PAC teams because the ACC isn't available. The alliance is a way for the big ten to keep the PAC where it is, schedule some high profile games and get negotiating power for the playoff. The PAC gets a stay from execution because USC is not happy. ACC has no power because of horrible negotiating in their last deal that lasts till 2035 so they just want a seat at the table and they will get some good games scheduled too. Its not a great scenario for the PAC or ACC but they really don't have any other choice.
Not buying those mental gymnastics. The new PAC commissioner doesn't strike me as a guy who's gonna turn the other cheek and sing kumbaya with a conference planning to rip his best teams.

I know it's piling on to bring ESPN into any of this, but ...

It's just ridiculous, the amount of sheer confident statements flying around with absolutely no truth or facts behind them. And yes, being it was ESPN Radio, of course they have a motive in pushing that line of commentary.
It's OK to pile on. They deserve it.

More reason to hate espn. If we needed any.

This knowledge was shared on the other big ten sites. In the thread i started on her I explained that I found this page when I was looking at the reactions from the rest of the big 12 teams. I was beyond impressed with the fandom on here and so I shared the info I had because I saw a lot of initial posts suggesting things that weren't based in reality. Trust me the powers that be don't really care that stuff is being posted on random message boards and it doesn't really affect anything because im not posting exact details (because I don't know them) . That being said on my thread I've typically posted updates that become public within 1/2 days just to try and keep people informed from what I am hearing because I know the fans here are desperate for news on their future the same way I would be if I was in your shoes.

He is powerless to keep those teams there if they want more media money. The alliance is the PAC being proactive and trying to keep their best teams where they are.

So you really don’t have sources, you have fan sites.

and so nothing you are saying is anything more than big 10 fan board conjecture.

got it.

Don’t think I’m hating on you. But this is stuff iowa state fans have heard from Iowa fans for decades.

Is your reading comprehension this bad? You asked if I posted this on other sites and I said I did. As I have stated before I have contacts with the board on both Michigan and Michigan state and direct high level athletic dept connections at State. I'm taking the bits of info I hear from them and just passing it on. On the thread I started you can see that my info has been pretty accurate and before its been released to the general public. Do I have exact dates, numbers, etc nope and never claimed to. But the things I post come from insiders who are in talks about these things and share with me what they can.

I know it's piling on to bring ESPN into any of this, but I happened to hear a couple of guys talking college football on ESPN Radio yesterday afternoon. They both gleefully jumped on a comment that the remaining Big XII schools "don't matter." They said, "I know you alumni and fans don't feel that way, but it's just a fact. Your teams don't matter."

This is completely asinine. Why do Northwestern and Rutgers and Illinois and Oregon State and Colorado and Mississippi State and Vanderbilt "matter" but Iowa State and Oklahoma State and TCU don't? Simply because of which conference they happen to be lucky enough to be in? Well, that's just not a true statement on its face. Every D-1 FBS football team "matters" - the bluebloods have to play somebody, right, and they don't want to only play each other because, well, one of them would lose a bunch of games.

It's just ridiculous, the amount of sheer confident statements flying around with absolutely no truth or facts behind them. And yes, being it was ESPN Radio, of course they have a motive in pushing that line of commentary. But anybody with half a brain cell should just be gobsmacked by the tonnage of ignorance in that statement.
Dude, I boycotted anything ESPN related as soon as this broke. Don’t listen and be happy.

Yes - Alabama's and other SEC big boys likes Vanderbilt because that is another bye week for them. Iowa State would play hard and physical draining the other teams looking to win a Natty. It's not impossible that Iowa State wouldn't upset a big boy as well.

So the PAC 12 is happy to be last in revenue and eventually get poached? Ok then.
I don't know anything about what is happening internally with the PAC but I cant think of anything they could do to increase their potential media earnings by the time of their next negotiation. They could add some big8 schools but that would most likely keep them consistent with their current media money not increase it. They really don't have very many cards to play

Insiders that are fine with you posting premium information?

dude come on. No one high level employee getting ready to begin negotiations to change the entire landscape of college Athletics will give information to someone, and not care if they post it on public sites

There is a huge logic gap there.

I’m sure the big 10 will be one of the two big dogs at the end of the day. But to think a high level athletic department official, at a major university, will tell a buddy all kinds of confidential info, and be ok with it being dispersed publicly?

I mean if you’re a plant, that’s weird, but ok.

Outside of bama who is on another level then everyone else I don't see another SEC team that ISU couldn't beat.

I am not a reporter breaking national news, even when people put out full leaks on a site unless there is very specific information no one pays any attention to it. You can feel free to not believe me but I haven't posted anything yet that hasn't happened.

Adding the central time zone, partner with a streaming network to spin off their network, or scheduling alliance that they can sell extra inventory too. There is plenty they can do, even just adding OSU/Tech

Very possible, I don't know what the PAC is doing internally I am just hearing about the framework of the alliance. I have no idea if they have ran the numbers, talked with their media sources and figured out if that is a viable answer. You could be right

You seem to be missing the point, sir. The info is not what’s in question. It’s like leaking things they want to Dennis Dodd or someone like that Which is kind of what I’m seeing here.

It’s the idea that connected people would permit top secret info to be shared freely on a public website that I’m having the hardest time wrapping my head around.

Anyway. Carry on. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
