I think tonight is going to be a tough game especially since OU is on a two game losing streak and this is their conference home opener! I was hoping to split on the road trip and since TX is up next tonight would be the one to get. Any thoughts or predictions? I feel we are playing better ball then three weeks ago and I like that they lost to Tech which means we should not be intimidated

GO state!

With this team, anything is possible. Both good and bad. I could see a win, and I could see a loss. Depends on which team shows up. The one from the first three games against Nebraska or the one from the fourth game.

The second part scares me more than the first part. Oklahoma will be fired up playing in their home opener even though the Sooners do not draw well for any sport besides football. The 2-game skid has taken away some momentum from Oklahoma, so that might be an advantage for us.

The game is on ESPNU at 6 Central tonight, so I'm excited!!

The Sooner fans are not right on the opposing servers like it used to be. They were particular unsportsmanlike at one NU match back when Huskers were still int he league. Think it was Sooner football players and WBB players leading the profane onslaught.

Great team win in Norman!

We're seeing a much uniform line-up which in turn has made the team more comfortable.

Absolutely love Kuhrts versatility. Hockaday crafty too.

Jess continues to impress. The X factor and doesn't make mistakes.

I know nothing about the sport, but absolutely love watching it. Tonight was no exception.

The team looked really good today but seemed like (again, know nothing about the sport) we were completely relying on whoever the digger was, the girl with over 50 assists, and this Schaben girl to destroy.

Schaben is only a freshman so she's got a bright future.

(Apologies for probably butchering her name)

From what little I saw, they looked much more in sync than I've seen so far this year. That could be a product of a not so good Oklahoma team, but I'd like to think ISU is starting to gel. That bodes well for the rest of the season.

Kuhrt, Conaway lead with Schaben and a cast where the preformance was outstanding and resilient.

Conaway lead the way.

That was the best road win we've had in a while, IMO. It's a great win, and a needed prong to win a conference title. We've had some really good teams go in there and "stub their toe". This is especially big with them losing to Tech to start. We have to win at home and beat the teams we're supposed to. This could be a really good year. We're playing better.

We just had great resiliency after the first set. The girls knew they could beat them, and just determined to do it. Our D is huge. Early, West and Lazard had some big blocks and kills. Coach kind of pulled them in the middle two sets, and I don't remember seeing Lazard late. West played big late, though. Vondrak came in late and just ignited the team again! She was great when we really needed it in the middle. Schaben is what I said she was, she's a winner. She makes things happen on defense and offense. Great game. Capezio had great offense, but lacked on defense early, then made up for it with some big blocks late. Conaway played really smart and steady. Nolan was just everywhere, she's an all-American. Nothing gets past her. Berta was really tough and had great up's, and served well. Kuhrt was the difference in my mind. Her shots and play on the back-line where huge. She came up big when we really needed her. I'd give her a nod for player of the match, but Harris had some big moments. Teams know when she's in the front row. They're attacking her on the net. At 5'9" she had some big blocks!!! They were huge at the time. Changed possession. She set well, too. Just a team win. Wow, I still can't believe it.

We need to go into UT this weekend and shock the conference. It's time to win the league, IMO. This team is deep and talented. I know OU has a suspect record, but they've played good teams, and they were on their home floor. We should be really up for this.

ESPN? Really? She says Tennessee is the team to beat in the pre-match? Then they show a EIU logo on our kills? Stupid. Know what league you're covering!!

The R1 and R2 were terrible. Can they even see the court at their age? OU had so many uncalled lifts, it made me sick. We overcame all that, and their coach using his cause to get people there. How many times has that happened against us? I know it's a great cause, but when you exploit it too many times, you start to cheapen the affect, IMO.

Yes, Boxster, it's a whole lot of streaming consciousness.

sob - thanks for saving me a whole lot of typing. You nailed most of the key points. Kuhrt was the superstar of the game, her ability to attack from the back row really helped to open some things up and she had some really nice change of pace shots. I really like how we adjust and play the hot hand. Lazard played like a freshman on the road and Kurht stepped up like an upperclassmen should! Schaben is a flat out stud and winner. Nolan is like having another coach on the floor - she is kind of a bad ***. Overall Christy has a lot of options to work with and she is doing a nice job mixing and matching. fun win, must have been a great flight home.

Cubs, the digger girl, Nolan, is one of the best in the country. Bet all your money on Big 12 Libero of the year, and likely AA as well.

Only watched the stats - who lit Kuhrt on fire tonight? Was that a career night?

I like that even though Mo is undersized in that front row, she gets more blocks than any other recent setter we've had (Horner probably being closest in my mind). Our blocking is still only average for the conference, but that's a major improvement from where we've been. The last few games I've seen double digit blocking numbers several times.

Great road win.

Nolan has gotten so good when she has an extraordinary game (33 digs) it seems we expect it! But thinking now about the OU match she was unreal. Vondrack and Kurht came in at strategic times where instead of fading we were energized and both were exactly what we needed to carry us to the win. I tip my hat to the coaches savvy substitutions; but Bigbee is sadly M.I.A., but if we win like this...

Agree with sob on the announcers. They also had Conaway playing for Oklahoma, referred to Kurht as a surprise that Oklahoma would not be expecting, were not at all familiar with officiating (called touch by Conoway when the ball did not change its spin and therefore probably was not touched; official got it right, ESPNU got it wrong), etc.

But hey, I was delighted that it was televised, and hope for many more. I'll take some green announcers any day to see more away games on the screen.
