Colbray gets last minute take down to make it a major decision 13 to 4.

We're up 19 to 9 with two to go.

Overall a pretty disappointing effort. I’m hoping they trained through this dual and maybe the travel took its toll on some guys. But, it’s tough to always bring your A game. Time to regroup and bring it against UNI

At the beginning of the year, I expected that we’d have some duals like this one.

After the improvement we’d shown, I was hoping we were past it.

So it’s disappointing, but probably not a huge deal in the scheme of things.

If we wrestle like this in West Gym, it’ll be a different story.

Man...Parkers loss left a really bad taste in my mouth. He cant lose those matches.

Parker took the first 2 shots of the match and just took a little too long to finish. He got caught in a cradle off the scramble in the 2nd one for 6. It ultimately cost him the match but his effort was there. As hard as he had to fight to not get stuck, he was still better conditioned in the 3rd. I was disappointed that he lost but I think he'll learn from it and clean up his finishes.

Coleman's loss looked worse to me. Another slow start and he never really got back in it. He needed a late reversal to avoid the major.

Credit to Mackall and in particular Andersen for their efforts against highly ranked opponents. Mackall, as always was fighting to the end against a podium guy. Andersen was outsized and overmatched but really wrestled hard. He took a beautiful shot right off the whistle that I thought he was going to finish. There was no back down in him.

The fact that we're all a little disappointed in the results of this one is actually good. We"d have been happy with any show of a pulse at any point in recent memory

And finally, the dual ended about 7 hours ago. I wonder if Ken Chertow has stopped talking yet.

Coleman needs to really commit to the weight room this off season. He’s been significantly physically out matched several times this year.

Watching last night I was shocked at 141. I kept waiting for Parker to storm back and he just couldn’t get it going. That OSU kid had some length and some funk. Seemed like a matchup nightmare for Parker as I don’t think he ever made the OSU guy uncomfortable the entire match.

I was underwhelmed with Deshi. Hadn’t seen him too much but I have a hard time believing he is number 3 or 4 at the weight just based off what I saw last night. It would have been fun watching Gremmel roll with him.

I continue to gain respect for Mackall. Bresser’s chin lock damn near pulled his head off his shoulders and he held position. Damn tough kid.

Overall it wasn’t a good performance. Not a lot of energy from the guys but that midweek travel, late start and 1 hour weigh in probably didn’t help.

I think it’s also very likely that they trained through this meet. Next weekend is really important to put on a good show at home against Missouri, and of course against a solid UNI team. You’d have to figure the coaches are focused on that.

Yeah I talked to one of my buddies on the team and he said last week was one of the toughest weeks of practice. It was the first time in a while that the starters had a full week to train, and it sounded like Dresser was using the week to really get better for March than winning a dual in early February. That on top of the travel and the late start probably slowed some of our guys down. I'm not overly concerned about this dual and think they will respond well next week at West Gym.
