Man...Parkers loss left a really bad taste in my mouth. He cant lose those matches.
Parker took the first 2 shots of the match and just took a little too long to finish. He got caught in a cradle off the scramble in the 2nd one for 6. It ultimately cost him the match but his effort was there. As hard as he had to fight to not get stuck, he was still better conditioned in the 3rd. I was disappointed that he lost but I think he'll learn from it and clean up his finishes.
Coleman's loss looked worse to me. Another slow start and he never really got back in it. He needed a late reversal to avoid the major.
Credit to Mackall and in particular Andersen for their efforts against highly ranked opponents. Mackall, as always was fighting to the end against a podium guy. Andersen was outsized and overmatched but really wrestled hard. He took a beautiful shot right off the whistle that I thought he was going to finish. There was no back down in him.
The fact that we're all a little disappointed in the results of this one is actually good. We"d have been happy with any show of a pulse at any point in recent memory
And finally, the dual ended about 7 hours ago. I wonder if Ken Chertow has stopped talking yet.
