I'm barely in my late-20's but this **** is annoying.

Granted, these kids will get it back in spades when the big one caps out at 5'11. It is what it is, we just see more of it now due to social media.

My real old-man/get-off-my-lawn take about youth basketball is that Steph Curry, through no fault of his own, has done a ton of damage to the game at that level and beyond. Kids know they can't or won't be able to dunk like LeBron, but they don't realize that they also can't shoot like Steph, who is just as much of an athletic outlier with his otherworldly touch and feel. And especially so without exceptionally good shooting mechanics that you will have a much harder time developing if you're trying to shoot threes in 3rd grade and have to shoot from your hip to get it there.
In fairness anyone can pull up 6 feet past the half court line and launch a three. Just not successfully very often.

It’s not even a generational thing bc the best **** talkers of all time reside in the 80’s and 90’s era.
Yeah, but Larry did it the right way dammit! He was respectful to the game when he talked **** to his opponents!

If anything he was more disrespectful haha he’d tell people exactly what move he was going to make and then successfully do it. He told the media he was going to play the first 3 quarters of a game left handed bc he was saving his right for the Lakers (dropped 20 of his 47 with his left). Lol

That's not what they said, just that they're all "concerned/worried" about his ability to be eligible because of it. Same with all the thug comments back early in Fred's tenure.

People have biases, known or unknown to themselves, that paint how they see the world. And unfortunately you see that with speculation about a guy like Biliew's future eligibility compared someone like Momcilovic.
They were also concerned with Hunter Deyo's ability to stay eligible.

I think most of the "thug" comments came when we had players who were kicked off their former team then transferred here. Chris Allen, Royce and Korie Luscious. Not saying it's justified, as getting kicked off a sports team certainly doesn't make someone a thug, but I don't recall anyone making a blanket statement calling all our black players "thugs".

No doubt people have biases. No argument there.

Oh absolutely one of the most legendary ****-talkers of all time. Notoriously would get pissed off if opposing coaches had a white guy match up with him, asking who's gonna get second at IIRC, the first 3 point shootout?

Omaha is one of the best players in the country. He can act like he’s better than everyone because he is. If the first thing you do after seeing an eastbay dunk is cry about sportsmanship, maybe take up watching golf lol.
Ohh, don't even get me started on the antics of gophers, err, golfers.

That’s what I’m saying. Kobe Bryant and MJ too we’re great **** talkers. My point isn’t you have to be an all time great though, it’s the notion that not liking **** talking equates you to being old.

There's a story of him being mad about the hotel he had to stay in so he told the opposing team he was going to break the arena scoring record. Went off for the first half and held off in the 2nd.

It's funny what those guys would find for motivation.

I saw the unbelievable dunk Omaha put down, it was awesome. The only thing I didn’t care for was the “throat-slashing” gesture afterwards. I don’t care who you are, that’s in poor taste.

I’m like 68% sure grill did this during the game vs Texas

About 45 seconds in - I know someone mentioned him doing something with his nose but pretty sure he does both.

I don’t care either way. Do it all you want imo

I seent it with my own two at my son's practices. The game this past weekend was maddening. They won 44-22, but it was all dribbling endlessly, no passes, 2-3 guys looking for their own shot and only getting it by head-down dribble, shooting over double teams.

Then going to canned fortnite/tik tok celebrations.

The game is cool and fun, and I'm not against celebrating, but when you have planned celebrations as a 6-8 year old, but can't dribble with your left hand, or figure out basics of floor spacing or ball movement, priorities are off.
They won, so what is your point? You didn't like HOW they won? I am confused.
