This is the culture down south? That's a little harsh.

I can be convinced that Mixon has fixed this with himself, the woman and the school. Bobby has a history of running off bad actors. I'd like to think there's more to the story than just the incident.

I'm sorry, but how much do you need to know? Unless he felt threatened, there was nothing she could have said or done that justified what he did. And that alone should have been enough for OU and every other high profile school to say thanks but no thanks.

Once again things are delayed just long enough to make sure that the player is able to play as long as the player or the school wants and then things conveniently come out just after. Delays and appeals should put this just after the Sooners' bowl game. There will always be an NFL team that needs help bad enough or doesn't care (e.g. Raiders) so that players who aren't in prison will get a shot if they are good enough.

A lot of horrible acts get a pass for King Football

True, but it seems like there's a difference when the public actually sees the act. I think that is the main reason AP and Greg Hardy got a second chance but Ray Rice essentially became a pariah in the NFL.

I must be mistaken but I thought we already saw video of this when it happened. Or was that another football player hitting a woman in a bar?

Edit: never mind, that was De'Andre Johnson from Florida State that I remember seeing

He definitely got her pretty good. She shouldn't have put hands on him, but if that was my sister/daughter it would be tough not to seek revenge.

It doesn't matter that she put her hands on him. Self defense requires the response to be proportional and it clearly wasn't. Otherwise, it would be legal for you to knock out a 7-year old because he kicked you on your shin.

He was clearly wrong but he already served a 1 year suspension didn't he?
