In two games we've gone from a defense ranked in the mid-50's on Kenpom (which was the best we've been under Fred) to 121st

We're capable of playing good defense, first 30 min of this game we played good D. Then we backed it off a bit and they just went off.

7 in a row at one point I think.

We were 65% from the line tonight. You apologists can say it doesn't matter but it does. Never know when the opponent will go on a rampage.
This is a key stat. If Iowa State hits 83% from the line like Texas did, the Cyclones score 61 themselves in the second half.

We lose in Lubbock with that kind of effort....oh wait, already happened. Screw this win is a win stuff. That 2nd half was not good.
Ok.

I didn't say there wasn't reason for concern, but Iowa State still won. A win is a win.

Don't act like the Cyclones lost, because they didn't.

In the presser Fred said something to the effect of "I've been miserable for the last damn 48 hours, let me enjoy this one."

I suggest we all do the same

Skimming through the game on DVR. Was I the only one who caught the ESPN cut away to commercial showing the scenic sights of campus on a winters night, including the beautiful glowing lights of the local Kum & Go? Call me junior high, but I chuckled.

The Phillips 66 logo (as an advertiser) on the left of the screen made that scenic shot every better

Agree. Extremely well managed game by Barnes at the end. Really bizarre sequence of events for us offensively at the end...

Have to give props to Barnes for how he handled the last 2/3 minutes. Yes it took forever and yes it was annoying as hell, but he gave his guys a chance to make some shots and make a run and they damn near pulled it off. I didn't think they were ever going to miss again the way it looked.
