Sadly, I actually wish we would run a few more ISO pick and rolls for Tyrese. Conditt and Jones on the screen and roll might make more sense then the standing merry-go-round at the top of the key.

Hey now.

Merry-go-rounds are fun. This game isn't.

anyone think this is a product of more games to scout us and the fact that we have played like 6 top 30 teams in a row? Maye this is fatigue with a limited bench? I know I was concerned about fatigue, but we are only 6 games into the conference slate. So hope that is not it....
It isn't fatigue. It's a team without playmaker struggling to make plays.

Yeah I don’t think the offense has been THAT bad, they just can’t make anything.

I agree that the offensive play hasn't been as bad as the shooting makes it look. But it's clear that nobody knows what to do because I think they all know that nobody can hit the broad side of a barn. But there definitely has been too many times where the ball gets stuck, and the guards are doing a poor job of moving the ball and getting it to Jones when he has a size advantage down low.

I get that defense is their identity. But between the long rebounds off bricks their offense is costing them points. This staff needs to figure out something to lift this offense to just being run of the mill bad.

They also are just not creating turnovers and getting in transition.

This is shockingly bad offense. Most of their points have come off early shot clock 22’ 2s off the dribble.

Figure anything out. The offense cannot get worse.
Games like this are why I hope the defensive identity thing has more to do with the quick turnaround and limited options than something that will always be the case. Great offense beats great defense in basketball, you can't do anything about it if the offense just makes shots.

Regardless, it's not this impossible to get a decent look on offense more consistently. The high post action through Jones and Conditt seems to get a decent look maybe once a game and we see it turned over from there multiple times every game. I just can't believe they still go to it this often.

We have never been a team with any offensive players…. outside of Brockington…. but we used to at least move without the ball and make cuts to the basketball and kept the basketball moving quickly from side to side, etc….. but lately we just stand around and chuck horrible jumpers.

I wonder if the team is just tiring as the season goes on…. and therefore only have enough energy to give effort on the defensive end?

I think he probably looked at this group's shooting and said "****, we better be damn good on defense, or we're toast."
Props to him for patching it together this long I guess.

Love the dedication from the team but isn't it basically a team of role players that are all limited offensively?

It's a pretty standard 'rebuild' group that needs to shoot REALLY well to compete.

Yikes.

Well we didn't foul much. If I'm TJ I tell them to turn up the pressure a bit more. We're gonna need to force many more turnovers to have a chance to close this gap. We just don't have the firepower on O to stay the course
Maybe its time for TJ to go the Juco route and FIND SOME SHOOTERS!

TJ better be peeling some paint off the walls in that locker room. I expect an entirely different team in the second half. We will make a run.
I hope you’re right. We have had very few runs lately.

Has anyone kept track of the points off turnovers on us? Seems like it is around 10 points or so. Clean some of that up and play just a little better D, we might be able to pull this one out. Stay sloppy, we lose by 18.

I would be in favor a screening the ball once in a while, maybe scrapping the entire high post thing they have going on. At this point they should just go AAU mode and play 5 out with a couple set plays.
