Whoever calls this time of year the dog days of the sports calendar doesn't have a kid playing high school baseball. I'm at a baseball field at least 5 nights a week until mid July this time of year between high school games for my oldest and travel ball for my middle schooler.

After this week, I have 6 weeks of paternity leave and chilling with my daughter. Lots of YouTube or Office reruns in my future.

We were watching a guy cut grass on YouTube yesterday while Mom got groceries

I am sure it was interesting and entertaining but this made me laugh.

We have people complaining about baseball but watching tennis and cycling? Talk about boring

The difference is that Wimbledon and TDF happen once a year. It’s something to look forward to, unlike the 18th meeting between the Angels and Mariners.

Way up there
I'd normally be in MLB mode but the DH rule has just killed it for me, such a generic, predictable game now. No need to watch for much but the score. CFB can't get here soon enough.

I love baseball but MLB has gotten borderline unwatchable
For probably the last 5 years on Opening Day I've convinced myself I'm going to watch more baseball games as a casual fan and every year I make it about 2 weeks. Even a good Sunday Night Baseball game I'm probably not watching, and if I do maybe just the last few innings before I go to bed.

It's always bittersweet when the Stanley Cup ends, but there's still plenty to enjoy this summer! Even if baseball differs from your liking, it's a great opportunity to play other sports you may have missed or try new activities. Plus, there's always something going on in the world of sports if you follow it. I love following sporting events, and I have a calendar that I download from https://www.123calendars.com/2024-calendar.html so I can record all the crucial matches and not miss anything. Hang in there, my friend, the summer will fly by, and we'll be back with a busy sporting season.
