Jake was first but the guys calling national games loved throwing Scotty in there to amplify the effect.
Wasn't Booker around the same time as Anderson?

edit: Booker was about 20 days after Anderson. I was thinking for a second Booker was first.

So McKay is primarily a 4? Is Niang more of a 4 if McKay is at the 5?

I have no idea if they actually have "positions". Not too much height difference either.

Can Jameel shoot? Or will he be on the inside when Niang is out shooting?

Ohhh the possibilities.

Niang is more of a 5, since he plays with his back to the basket. Not that it matters with Hoiberg--other than who you will be guarding.

You need to watch Niang play a little more. He is way more than a post up player.

I think the 345 are going to be all interchangeable with Niang Nader and Mckay on offense. On defense, Mckay probably has the most athleticism so that will effect who they guard on D, but basically these three will all be interchangeable with different assets.

Question based on some of the posts and McKay paying his own way for the spring semester.

Are there any advantages to this in regards to the amount of time the coaches can spend with McKay. I know there is a limited amount of coach interact that occurs during the off season. I'm not sure about in season.

I'm thinking since McKay is paying his own way he really isn't any different than any other student enrolled and paying his own way at ISU. So for instance if Fred wanted to help Cubswin with his jumper to make sure he dominated the CF pick up games I think that would be fine. While McKay is paying his own way he's really no different than Cubswin (other than talent).

Just wondering if there is any advantage to be had to get in some extra coaching.

Agreed he has much more to his game than posting up, but practically it doesn't really matter what "position" he plays. Depending on who the match-ups are, he might be posting up, playing high low, driving, or working the perimeter.

Redshirt Melvin and go all in on a championship run.

Nothing against Ejim at all because he's great, but we are loaded without him next year. I'll take Vaughn and Cunningham. Hope Ejim makes a quick recovery because we need him for this years run.

Funny.
Actually I was thinking that one of the reasons McKay didn't choose ISU originally was due to Niang and Ejim. McKay probably figured (or was told) that he would be coming off the bench and wanted to start right away. He wen't to Marquette and realized he may be force to come off the bench here (and they are still recruiting posts for next year) and figured he may as well go to a better system fit where there is an open starters spot next year. Add in the fact he gets a year of practice under Fred's teaching, he will be put in a great situation to be comfortable and suceed next year. This may have been the best way for this recruitment to work out.

Redshirt Kane too.. (Fake an injury and get a medical redshirt)

Our lineup could look like this:
Kane
Vaughn
Ejim
Nader
Niang

And a bench of:
Thomas
Morris
McKay
Hogue
Cunningham
Long
SDW
Custer
Gibson
