ah, the good old days when Hoiberg couldn't coach.

First he couldn't coach, then he couldn't recruit high schoolers, then he couldn't recruit PG's, then he couldn't coach or recruit post players. Hopefully the village idiots start talking about how he can't bring in top 20 talent next.

No way will he go to 11 final fours and win 4 championships over his next 30 years at ISU.

Watching that highlight video of McKay reminds me of a skinnier Demarre Carroll from MIZZOU. He has the same type of game. If McKay turns out to be as good as Carroll, I will be VERY happy!

I get that football is tougher, but in year 5 you should be hitting your stride. Look at the guys who have turned things around and they are turning the corner or are already there by year 5. Now Rhoads in year 6 will just be looking to get back to the same level he was at in years 1-4?

Hoiberg not only turned around the BB program fast, he is now set up for sustainable future success. There is no comparison between the two right now, Rhoads is all talk, and Hoiberg is all results.

Rhoads = Fran
Hoiberg=Bill Snyder

Both ways can work. One way seems to work better. That said it takes a special kind of magic to be a wizard. Not a fair standard, I am just happy to have one.

This worked out better then him comitting out of Juco. It gives Hoiberg time to help him with his game and he should be a very valuable contributor once he gets to play. He has the athleticism to be a very good defender as well.

Not sure about that. I'd rather have him for two full seasons than sit out a year and only play 1 1/2 seasons. If he had committed, he would have made up for Melvin's loss in the early season games. Plus, by the time Vaughn gets here, McKay would already have a year of experience playing with the big boys and would be able to contribute more for Vaughn's only season at ISU.

Although this way we get him for 2015-2016 which is looking like a really special season. My theory is that Fred planned this all along so that he could build a dream team for 2015-2016.

Not sure what would have happened with Kane if McKay had originally committed here though.

The Platinum Age.

(disclaimer...I would have said the two more expensive precious metals...Rhodium or Technitium, but Rhodium is too close to Rhoads for my comfort right now...and Technitium is radioactive...and screw Tech).

It's the Pearl Necklace for age for me.

Texas. He just went to Penn State for college.

Babb's family runs a great place in Dallas called "Babb Brothers BBQ and Blues." The sausage is the best I've ever had. And the place is really cool. It is run cafeteria style so it is easy to move around and look at all the stuff on the walls (including a big ISU sign out on the patio in the midst of all the Texas schools). I think they had ISU BB game-watches there last year. I met his dad there and in Dayton. Seemed like a great family (it was easy to see where he got his work ethic). And really enjoyed the food.
