For all the haters, doubters, heightists, anti-walk ons, I hope Cade does something thats puts him into legendary Cyclone lore that exceeds Jeff Woody, and you have to replay it in your mind every year in March to remind you that you were on the wrong side of history.
Thing is, Iowa State’s never really had any luck with walk-on point guards.

He clearly is not a pro prospect but he still can be a solid college player like the two short white guards that played for Oklahoma State.
Phil Forte and Kelton Paige, hated them and loved them at the same time made for some great ball games. I don't ever remember 2 players being so interchangeable even though they didn't play together(I don't think) they just blend together in my mind.

Correct, they were back-to-back. So it was like 9 straight years of "one guy." (Forte had an injury redshirt, I think).

Love the condensed game style highlights the NCAA puts out.

Without further ado:

Pretty sure it's ESPN who puts some out but a lot of it is random plays where nothing happens except an offensive set and missed shot.

On the macro level the open transfer portal ensures the talent level will be on the court where it should be, mid majors should actually have more talent in their starting 5 if players move to where they can get minutes on the court. There will always be more depth at the P5 level, but when has that not been true?
I agree. It's dog eat dog world right down the line from the power conferences to the smaller ones.

Elite guys from smaller conferences many times get gobbled up by the bigger dogs. But there's more than enough good players to backfill.

I've noticed on many of these mid-major team rosters this Tourney that there are lots of guys who played at P-5 schools at some point. It doesn't mean they're bad players. Everyone's looking for minutes (and $). But sometimes minutes wins out as #1.

To all the people who thought it was ridiculous to question why an injured lipsey was in the game up 25 with 6 mins to go. Last night is why we questioned it. Anyone who has ever had a groin strain or any muscle strain for that matter knew that it was ridiculous.

He said post-game Friday that it felt better to play/move around and sitting tightened it up.

Yeah and that would make total sense if he was gonna play again that day. But up 25 with 6 mins left I think we could handle that without him. I mean he had to stop playing basketball that day at some point right?

Yes but there may have been calculations to keep the muscle moving as much as possible.

Conversely if he sits too long before treating it it could make that aspect harder.

Come to think of it. You are probably right. We should probably give everyone that's injured as many minutes as possible. Especially meaningless mins. Maybe if we had tamin run on a treadmill Friday night through Sunday his groin wouldn't have cooled down and he wouldn't have tweaked his groin last night.

And maybe this is a stupid comment. I guess we'll never know.

Yikes. Yeah I'm sure there wasn't a plan by anyone in the program.
