-It's hard to push & score in transition when the opponent doesn't miss.
-Stokes and Brown are tough, experienced guards.
-KState focused on taking Jackson out of the game.
-He got his head down, as did rest of team.
-Lost in the loss was Solomon's offensive game.

Coach Bruce Weber coached his ass off tonight. I don't particularly care for the guy, but the proof was in the pudding. Completely controlled the tempo. Particularly in the 2nd half.

Have you ever heard Brice Weber coach against us in Hilton on a missed basket? He is screaming for his team' to get back and I mean screaming. His teams are pretty good about limiting transition points. His guys were unconscious tonight.
Not talking about just tonite. Just been my feeling all year.

This was expected, although still disappointing to see it live. We’re a few pieces short even when healthy, and don’t play particularly strong in several key fundamentals to offset that.

We have decent talent, although clearly not enough to solely out-talent anyone in this conference. We’re also rarely going to outplay anyone imo. Our defense needs a lot of improvement.

Since this season is probably all about next year:
1.) Develop Young and Lard into a formidable duo. They have the capability to own the paint.
2.) Individual and team defense improvement. Right now it’s as bad as Hoiberg’s. At least then we could say we traded defense for offense. I don’t know if it’s a culture problem or coaching, but we have the athletes now, but there’s been little improvement imo.
3.) See what we have in Long, Talley, and Lewis.

I’m feeling for our players tonight. K-State was a buzzsaw, their players looked like NBA vetran’s out there compared to what we had suited up against them. We had the hot hand in the first and then just disappeared in the second, don’t know if that’s because of Webber’s genius halftime adjustments or if we just went that cold.

Jackson has got to show up. The guy can’t come into the season believing he’s the heir apparent to Monte, blow it, and the move to the wing and blow it also. And his fouling the 3-point shooter...twice. I love this dude when he’s on, but goddamn man, show some intelligence and spine out there.

And Wade abusing everyone on the court. The guys totally exposed Lard and his defensive deficiencies. On the bright side, he’s a freshman playing his first game, so he gets a pass, but he’s got a ways to go to really become a factor in this league, and he will in time.

Beverly, you’re short for your position and terrible at basketball.

Young is showing more on the offensive end and our best interior defender tonight.

Babb, he has so much potential, just an off night.

Wigginton is awesome, got into some foul trouble, but the dude is a straight baller. I let out a “daaamn” when he went up to blocks KSUs layup. His shot is rapidly improving and his defense will get better. He’s fun to watch play since he can score from anywhere.

Texas has a chance to kick our ass again on Monday night, 0 & 2 is not how we want to start the season.

Calm the eff down with the McDermott crap. It's just dumb. They aren't playing good, we get it, but nothing leads you or anyone to think that is the case.
I don’t think Prohm’s tenure from here on out will be like McDermott’s 4 years, but McDermott is a good coach and he had some talented players.

Embarrassing loss. Losing to a Weber coached team, at home, is unacceptable. I have zero respect for k State. These pukes lost to Tulsa.

Hope the guys, especially babb and Jackson wake the **** up. Here's to the team really learning from this loss.

Helechopper: I agree with everything in your post except the Beverly hate. Yes, there are things he will never be able to do for this team, in this conference. But he contributes some things too. To make that comment after this game is, IMHO, off-base and misplaced.

The basketball team seems to have gone back to the first couple of games... at this point any wins will be a pleasant surprise... again. I’m more concerned about this loss dragging on the football team’s psyche...

K state is solid,not a tourney team.
I want to agree, but need to see more before I agree. It's easy to disagree after watching them dismantle our guys, the homer in me wants to say they're Final 4 bound. But in reality I see them currently at worst playing-in for the final 11 seed. Already an 11-2 record, they only need 8 more wins to get an NCAA Tourney nod. And that would put them at 9-9 in conference play, I'd say very doable for them.

The bolded seems harsh. However, I haven't seen a lot to disagree with you. Hoiberg may have struck gold with his 5th year guys, or maybe just had a better eye for them than Prohm, who has struggled with his grad transfers:

Holden - bust
Beverley - we think bust (so far, clearly time to improve)
Brase - seems skilled enough, but rickety
Bowie - the best of the bunch, but struggled to find his niche until late in his only season
