We did a lot in the first quarter of our first meeting to keep them in the game. Short fields, safety, yet we still pulled away comfortably. I believe in this team to not lose to teams they shouldn't lose to. This is a team we shouldn't lose to.

I see this one being similar to the Kansas game.

Agree. "They're Kansas." We should NOT lose to a team like this.

What about our year too huh? We have had some tough/frustrating losses? What about the bowl performace last year? This team WILL be ready to play. It's time to take it all out on tulsa. BLOW THEM OUT.

Sammy stays interceptionless on the way to a 35 to 14 victory.

And Austen Arnaud was right. Steele Jantz will see the field in the last five minutes of the game to run out the clock.

Tulsa was 10-2 in games not against us. That includes playing UCF twice. Here are the Sagarin ranks of the teams they beat:

Tulane: 162
Nicholls: 211
Fresna State: 37
UAB: 149
Marshall: 118
UTEP: 147
Rice: 101
Houston: 114
UCFx2: 59

and the teams they lost to:
Arkansas: 66
SMU: 78

Their best win was over #37 Fresno State and their worst loss was to #78 SMU. They played two top 50 teams all season and went 1-1. In comparison we beat two top 30 teams (Baylor, TCU) and our worst loss was to #29 WVU. We did not lose to a single team not in the top 30.

Going by Sagarin Tulsa would have gone 3-9 with our schedule. Only beating Iowa, WIU, and Kansas.

Interesting stats. I wonder how much of a "Catch 22" factor is at play. Can a Conference USA team improve its rating much if it is always playing other Conference USA teams?

I predict ISU 35-17. However, it will be mostly because of the defense. They have had 26 fumbles, but only lost 11, largely because of Cody Green having the "dropsies." I predict we will shake him up and knock a few loose from RBs. I also predict that AJ Klein and/or Jeremy Reeves will have a Pick 6.

And one side benefit of the defense getting us a solid lead will be that it will encourage us to establish the run to control the clock and discourage us from going to the pass too much. And that will help keep our defense fresh for late in the game.

ISU has played awful in both bowl games under CPR. Until that changes, I can't predict a win, much less an easy one. Plus our defense will have issues with Tulsa without Knott. I expect our offense to play well but I'm concerned about the defense in this one.

Tulsa wins 34-31

I'm saying 38-17 the good guys. I think Sammy's development in the practices has him making it look easy like KU. I also think White and Nealy become a two headed monster and run all over Tulsa.

Do some of you really think we aren't going to beat Tulsa because we don't have Shontrelle? I find that mildly hilarious.

Tulsa sucked the first time, it's reasonable to believe they have continued to suck.

ISU is going to thunder **** those mid major chumps, again.

I think it is fair to say that this defense is considerably better with Knott, but the defense will be better in this game than what was seen the last few weeks of the season. Everyone else is back which will make a BIG difference. If they give up more than 21 points I would be surprised.

Yes, we lost Jake but we also found the QB we have been searching for. Sammy has a superb game, especially running the ball and we cruise 41 - 10.

The lack of productivity in their short passing game was amazing in the first game. Hope they continue with the dropsies and the bouncers.
