How did we catch a brake? Charlie possessed it first, never lost possession and ties also go to the offense. Announcer being an idiot doesn't change that.

You are 100% right about that... but a good degree of that comes down to him being the quarterback. I bet if you went to any message board in college football right now, 98% are talking about their quarterback. Either good or bad. Its not fair - never will argue it is - but its the nature of the position and the praise CMC puts on him.

Its one of the things where you get praised all the time by the head coach, set records - you're going to be the one to get criticized. Again, I'm not saying its right or fair its just the life of every quarterback to ever play in the modern era at least.
