It would have been very stupid to allow them to shoot 2 FT's rather than make a shot. Barkley just got done saying that the Charging foul on Clayburn was an absolutely terrible call. The rule states that if the heel is even hovering above the line it is interpreted to be within the arc. Therefore the Clyburn basket should have been good with a FT for Clyburn. Another blown call giving a Charge to an ISU player and the basket is called off while playing a Big Ten team in their own backyard. Deja Vu.
Not to mention Clyburn was in the air when Craft slid underneath him.

Aaron Craft is a true baller and playmaker. I know he isn't a great 3 pt. shooter but if he is given enough space which he was he is going to make that. It's what playmakers do at the end of games. Tough break but we gave him an open look.

This is all very true. I'm sure everyone hates playing against him, but having a leader like that makes a difference on the court.

Craft answered the call. He made a huge shot.

We shouldn't have been there. First the charge/block, then the missed rebound.

I'm just going to chalk that up as a win!

Then being removed from the tournament by the officials, reasons unspecified.

Yet another effing by the officials!!! Wow, that's two the ref's stole this year.

Was it a bad call in hindsight? Yes. It certainly wasn't a backbreaker like in the Kansas game though. Ohio State won this game more than we lost it, sometimes that's just the way it goes. 16 teams lose in this round and we just happened to be one of them. Good effort by our guys, they left it all out there.

We just played the best the mighty Big Turd can offer...on their de facto home court...with our best defender hurt the entire second half....to a last second shot. That's not bad! Of course losing hurts now because that's it. But only one team isn't going to lose now. Well.....I guess two if you count the Not Important Tourney. So yeah would have much preferred going to LA, but all in all not too bad. Would take this anyday over polishing Jan. and Feb. wins over Nebraska and Colorado as my season highlights.

Whether or not its the officials fault (which it IS), the national media and the NCAA power programs are EATING THIS CRAP UP! You watch, ISU will keep being pressured from outside forces to remain the bridesmaid but never the bride. People outside Cyclone Nation are ready to eat up our success because we are a good story, but only in the context of us "putting on a good show" for the likes of big money, big market traditional power programs. ISU is expected to keep giving a solid challenge to the big boys but never win, we are only supposed to "showcase" the big time programs, not BEAT them! This is all about the rich get richer, Wake Up Iowa! They want to keep you in your place, which is a challenging exhibition for the "real" big boys, and the powers-that-be will stop at nothing to keep us in our proper place. They don't want to put Iowa State in the pantheon of great programs, and if they ever do so, it will have to be done kicking and screaming. They tried to keep our success framed that way a decade ago and now they are doing the same thing.

I don't think it was that close, he was still moving in when they collided... on the line or not, he was NOT set...
This. It wasn't a charge. I personally think that's when a rough should swallow the whistle and let it play on. Clyburn initiated contact, but craft wasn't set. let it go.

Do people actually believe that their is a nation wide conspiracy to keep Iowa State men's basketball down? I know it sucks losing, but that seems a little much.

Please dude, the officiating wasn't bad. We got many fair calls down the stretch. This one that should have gone our way just happened not to. It sucks that we should have had 3 extra points coming down the stretch, but we lost. It sucks, but our guys played their hearts out and left it all on the floor. Just let it be.
