Do you have to look at everything with a glass half empty?

Seems to be more of a "Why even order the drink, it will be empty soon enough, so why even bother," attitude than anything else.

Granted, the Cyclones have broken many a heart, but it never ceases to amaze me the amount of people that still look for the bad even in good situations. Sometimes you just have to be willing to buy the ticket, hop on board and enjoy the ride as opposed to looking at what you will be doing when the ride is over.

Best shot is Baylor at home IMO. We played like crap at their place and should have some motivation. I think KSU will be out for blood against us at their place.

That's BS...I am not negative all the time. You never once comment on anything positive I say. You sit in the shadows and wait for my "negative" statements and pounce all over them like it's your job. Tell me what game we will be favored in for the last 3 conference games. Cmon...I'm waiting.

Go state.

Yep, you're right. We won't be favored in any of them, might as well pack our bags and head to the NIT now.

Probably right. KState on the road will be a very tough game, as will Missouri.

The most recent one is Missouri State who was in the upper 30s last year and didn't get in. However, I think the two big surprises to get in the field last year, UAB and VCU, both had good RPIs as their best asset.

I suspect this happens with mid-majors relatively often. That's why I framed the comment to specify BCS conference teams. The mid majors that get left off likely have soft SOS, but even with a weak non-con we'll end up at least in the 50s in SOS (probably 40s).

KSU is just a tough game to know what team will show up, it will be tough as will Mizzou just do not get blown out at either place or win one.

This. Just because a team isn't favored in individual games, doesn't mean they're expected to lose them all. There's a decent chance of winning each of the four games individually (except maybe @ Mizz). Overall the chances of 2-2 have to be at least as high as 0-4.

Before today's game's, here is what Ken Pomeroy's computer predictor had us at:

8-10: 1%
9-9: 6%
10-8: 31%
11-7: 42%
12-6: 18%
13-5: 2%

Everything shifts up because we got rid of that 17% chance of losing to Oklahoma. We're more likely to go 2-2 than 1-3 even though we may only be favored in one game.

in regards to tourney talk, i'm not sure our fans are paying attention to the most important factors, things like bubble team losses and teams we've beat getting a better RPI.

NW/Minn play each other, so that's one loss. NC state lost at home (and blew the game at Duke earlier this week), UConn lost today etc. Those things make the bubble even weaker, which gives us breathing room if you're *gasp* only 10-8.

if ok state can beat tx, maybe okie state becomes a top 100 RPI team, which gives us a top100 win and removes a >top100 loss. those things help.

Nebraska's beating Illinois right now, too. If that happens, two of the Big 10 "bubble" teams will be sitting at 5-9...with Iowa.

Just because you're negative all the ******* time, doesn't mean your a realist.

That guy is one of those Iowa State fans that is ALWAYS waiting and expecting something negative to happen. Just so they can look at everyone around them with an "I told you so" look.

One doesn't need to be all sunshine and roses, but just the way isunofan1 is always pointing out the worst possible outcomes means he is always thinking about them. I truly hate that segment of our fan base. I understand that years of heartbreak as driven them to madness, but I still don't like it...

Nubs up 52-28 now. Illinois needs to fire Weber before the weekend is over.

I did not like his actions, but glad he stuck up for himself and team, Blair is a cheap shot artist and nothing more. So who would have done the same thing on this board? You are in the moment and tired of the cheap shots what would you do in the same situation? Me, I would have kicked him square in the nuts did the discount double check and left for the showers.

I know that I would have done the exact same thing that Ejim did in that situation. Obviously it wasn't the right thing to do, but I understand given the circumstances of what led up to it.
