I've done my best to forget the end of the 2002 and entire 2003 seasons.
I don't blame you, but the 2002 Mizzou game was awesome where Seneca set a then (still?) school record for individual yards from scrimmage, the Colorado game was fun despite the loss (and that f****** high snap that cost us the game I still feel).
Yes, 2003 was BAD, and it was 20 years ago today that we got shut out by K-State 49-0, but some of my father's (RIP 2023) and mine favorite Cyclone memories are from that game alone being in the crowd.
I remember it for almost freezing to death (despite wearing three layers, but insisted we stay to the end because I am that loyal, despite Dad suggesting we leave early several times in the second half. I missed three straight days of school my Junior year of High School to recover), our first time being shutout since 1990, and just the absolute BLAST my father and I had in the crowd in the section we were in.
Oh and the fact that Waye Terry ALWAYS seemed to throw a pass JUST a bit outside (see what I did there?) our receivers fingertips. Didn't matter if it was Danielsen, Whitver (f*** him), Young, or Montgomery, Terry always put just a tiny bit too much on the pass.
