With nothing to play for, both A&M and West Virginia showed pride and played hard and won while being underdogs, probably huge underdogs as well.

Meanwhile, Iowa State just mailed it in and lost by the worst margin in this weeks’ D1 scoreboard. This is alarming that the program is trending in the wrong direction.

Completely agree. I can maybe live with 4-8 if we showed improvement throughout the year, but this definitely showed regression. Pretty alarming and a sign they really were poorly coached.

So this rebuilding year got worse as the year went on. Are we simply hoping to build to 5 next year? Will is get worse?
There should be more confidence around after this many years. Changes are necessary and if MC doesn't do it, that will make a loud statement.

Indeed.

And that statement will be:

A huge "F you!" to the fans.

Though not crazy surprising, I was still a surprised we mailed it in like that. Not a characteristic we have seen a lot lately.

What sucks is we now have a really good defensive identity to recruit players to, it's really unique. But if Campbell can't fix the offense, the defensive identity dies with it.

Recruiting on the offensive side has slipped the last two or three years
Who would want to play in it. It’s been hidden by nfl talent for the boring predictable trash it has been. Can’t figure why no one can get open when you have 3-4 receivers running routes in the same 10 by 10 yard area. Manning is a dip shi!

I’m going to try to ignore all of CMC and media hype and ass kissing bs all of the off-season and just wait to see what happens next year. If I can’t ignore it, I’m definitely not going to buy into it
I seriously don’t think there will be that much media hype, at least “positive” hype, going into next year. The only thing the media likes more than positively hyping a coach is tearing them down. Ask Steve Prohm or Scott Frost how long that good will and positive print lasted. Matt Campbell is clearly on the hot seat going into next season.

This team consistently shows up not ready to play. At least offense and special teams. That is on the coaches.

Kleiman made an OC change at KSU and it seems to be working out well. Campbell’s actions in the off season will speak volumes.

It didn't hurt that KSTATE has a running game.

We could have zero wins next season. Matt would still be coming back in 2024.
