Welp we blacked out the crap basketball bingo card tonight

Missed open looks
Missed layups
Missed free throws
Out hustled (more than I've seen all year)
Gave up offensive rebounds
Live ball turnovers
No counters from the bench
Head scratching "rotations'
Barely broke 40
Etc

It's tough to say what might have happened if we had one of our really good defensive games because we saw nothing remotely close to that, but I THINK Tech still might have won by double digits. That were really good...and we were nowhere close to matching them in any facet.

Effort isn’t an issue. We need someone to score to pull defenders off Brockington. As soon as Gabe and Grill missed their first few shots, the game was over. It was going to take one of those two getting hot to win.

I love Hunter but he had to have a night tonight and well I guess he had a night all right.

Now Tre gets in, what an insult. TJ better be careful with this crap, you either suspend players or you don't. This is what drove me nuts about how Prohm handled Lard.
If they were on some kind of internal suspension I csnt imagine what they did, Juwan Howard punched a guy and got 5 games, they've been missing for probably close to a month now.

How long has TJ been your direct report?
TJ better be careful, or what?

Have you ever played basketball. Not playing for like 2 weeks then getting thrown in is about as set up to fail as a guy can get.

Jfc I don’t give a **** if they hit shots or not. There is a reason that we don’t know that they aren’t playing. Even if they would have hit shots we still got smashed. But the amount of ******** people do about the playing time for 2 guys that aren’t that good is mind boggling to me. Tristan is soft and Jackson is marginal for this level of basketball. I’m sure they are good guys and good teammates.

In hope next year we bring in phase 2 of the offense. When the other team jumps the passing lane, you pass behind them and do something with it from there. IF our opponents aren't stealing the ball for a Jordanesque dunk, they are pushing our offense completely past the timeline.

Our weaves are WAYYYYYY to predictable.

This game reminded me of the 2000 NCAA Tourney game when we piss pounded UCLA. We were the bullies on that awesome evening. Tonight, Tech was the bully and we couldn't do anything about it.

I don’t disagree with anything you said but I think what people find perplexing is why certain guys are getting meaningful minutes only to be banished to the bench for seemingly no reason. Especially when we have a guy out there who couldn’t hit water from a dock and dribbles the ball off his foot half the time. And who is supposedly a defensive stopper but didn’t make the all conference defensive team.

It seems Iowa St's really good defensive efforts come with the offense making at least some shots.

There is very much a correlation between a lack of confidence on offense, and lack of effort of defense.

UCLA scored half it's points on dunks in the first round and the pundits didn't think we had a chance. That was a fun game. Actually attended in person with my 1 month old daughter. Not sure how I ever talked my wife into that.
