Big 12 really gets a lot of games relegated to ESPN+. Why do the networks NOT want the far and away top conference to be seen? Wait, could it have anything to do with us not being SEC or B1G?

We beat Iowa by 25, OU beat them by 12. So we should win by 13.

ISU, 85, Green Bay 44

OU 81, Green Bay 47.

So ISU by about 20 because everything should just happen like that.

I like our chances. OU's going to have to shoot well to beat us. I can see us turning them over 20+ times.

Buckle up, Medicate up, drink up, smoke up, whatever you got. Big 12 season is here.
Here is a guide to watching a full season of B12 conference games:

Denial-Yes, your team is not as good as you think it is.

Anger-Why do the refs keep screwing us in the ass!?

Bargaining-Maybe if we beat a team on the road the Committee will have mercy on us.

Depression-We wouldn't even beat a mediocre B10 team.

Acceptance-Welp, we suck again.

Is anyone saying ISU is really good? I haven't seen too many CF predictions above or around .500 in conference.

You forgot:
Reality: ups and downs like a majority of teams, make the tourney any old way you can and it's a crapshoot from there.

This is a guide for all of the B12 since we all are going to go through the same gauntlet.

Ah, got it.

Yeah 2.5 months of the basketball version of stock car figure 8 dirt track racing will do that.

Hoping to win one of these first two games, I think we matchup with OU much better than Houston, but I think the setup is better for the Houston game.

OU is a nice matchup - the 3 keys to the ISU team are 1) getting easy points from turnovers, 2) keep them off the offensive boards, 3) don't allow scoring in the paint. If we can do all 3 of those, then it doesn't matter if they get hot from deep for a while. The good news is that OU isn't especially good at any of those, and they are especially bad (for a BigXII team) on turning the ball over.

They also aren't especially big. They have two guys at 6'9" (Wofford transfer Godwin and Pitt transfer Hugley) . Hugley is a load, size wise. Everyone else is 6'6" or smaller. Godwin has been averaging almost 4 offensive rebounds a game, so keeping him off the glass is key.

I'm mainly concerned about our first real road game and the rust from not having played anyone with a pulse since Thanksgiving. I like the setup with Houston coming in to a sold out Hilton for the first time in the snow on Tuesday, but their defense is just so damned good.

I think we beat OU if Tamin gets going offensively early and we keep OU (particularly Godwin like you said) off the offensive boards. I'm interested in seeing Jones battle Godwin as they have similar styles. If fouls are called tightly, both could get in trouble early.

The Houston game has me worried. Our offense has been best when we get our inside game rolling early, and I think Houston is going to give us fits in the paint. They aren't the most disciplined at times, but they have a lot of athleticism to make life very uncomfortable. But I've also seen them give up runs to teams by playing lackluster for stretches and looking disinterested.

I'm ready for some nervous times!
