So what was the stated reason we ever played games in Wells Fargo anyway?

No idea what the stated reason was, but the practical reason: you could get a decent matchup signed by giving away your home court advantage.

JP admitted this was a bad deal for ISU.

Feel like TJ has options to create match-up problems for opponents or to match-up. It helps to have big/experienced guards like Gilbert and C. Jones.

Big Lineup: Jones or Ward, King, Momcilovic, Gilbert & Lipsey
Med Lineup: Jones or Ward, King or Momcilovic, C. Jones, Gilbert & Lipsey
Small Ball Lineup: Jones or Ward or King, Momcilovic or C. Jones, Paveletzke, Gilbert & Lipsey
Really Small Ball Lineup: Jones or Ward or King or Momcilovic, C. Jones, Paveletzke, Gilbert & Lipsey
That sounds ok until you have to matchup against 4's like Adams. King might be ok but I feel he'd be in foul trouble.

I shudder at the thought of Mom defending them.

In your 4 gaurd lineup who draws the short straw? Definitely won't be Pav. I hope it won't be Tamin just for the sake of keeping him healthy and fresh. Maybe KG's can slow them down? Jones would foul out.

Did Pollard organize the Bradley away-and-neutral (I had forgotten about that one) -- or was that set prior to his takeover?

I think the Ohio State situation was prior to JP, (I could be wrong but I'm going off top of my head when he came and when OSU series was played)

I believe the reason ISU played games at WF because the games were sponsored by someone like Mediacom.

The recent Hawk games at WF were sponsored by HyVee. My guess is HyVee wrote a big check and that made sense since they have an NIL deal with Clarke.

Neutral court to schedule, bring a game to the metro area blah, blah, blah. I'm pretty sure it is no more than a hour from anywhere in the metro to Ames, if you don't attend ISU games that is not the reason why.

Essentially what I was saying, but you laid it out far better. I think your medium lineup will be the base.
Gilbert in foul trouble?
Got his 4th last night relatively early. I don't remember exactly what minute.

But sometimes it goes both ways. Does KU really want Adams 20 feet from the basket guarding Momcilovic? Sure he's a solid defender, but a big part of Adams strength is his quickness and vertical in the paint.

I think a big reason our small ball line ups work is all our guards are willing rebounders. Even Paveletzke had five rebounds against EIU

Curtis Jones seems like a poor man's Chris Babb. Good size, plays good defense and people seem to forget Babb was also streaky shooting the 3.

I get the spirit of what you are saying but if I was KU I would take Adams vs Mom everyday of the week. That is just a flat out bad matchup on both ends of the court for Mom. To be fair that is a bad matchup for a lot freshman forwards.
