The last information I heard about Pleta was he was slotted as a Sophomore by the NCAA.I couldn't read the release because it was behind a paywall but it appears Dominykas Pleta was granted 4 years of eligibility from the ncaa

I don't think we were pushing Dishon out, though I also don't think we were going to spend a lot extra to keep him if I had to guess. Not wrong, but TJ has done extremely well at retaining talent here. Outside of losing Hunter after TJ’s first year, we haven’t lost anyone to the portal that we weren’t already pushing out.
(Knock on wood)
Yeah we may not have been pushing him out but we were looking to upgrade that position.I don't think we were pushing Dishon out, though I also don't think we were going to spend a lot extra to keep him if I had to guess.
Sounds like TJ was saying that has been changed and he is now classified as a FreshmanThe last information I heard about Pleta was he was slotted as a Sophomore by the NCAA.
I could be wrong, but people should pump the brakes on Pleta, I think.See, that’s the thing. Either he’s good enough to play as a true frosh (and I think he is), or, like Nojus, he’s off to greener pastures.
And if he’s good enough to play with these guys, that’s significant.
I think he’s in the top three interior rotation, Jefferson-Buchanan-Pleta, then Mulser.
Mostly for Jefferson, but I think the two can do rude things to opponents on the floor together.
I think the staff liked Dishon but saw the limitations in his ability to move and play defense ouside the paint. Still they would have him as the starting center at last years NIL price. Dishon is a starting center and for a team playing in a post up system was getting larger offers the staff wasn't comfortable paying. I do think they were close to getting Cluff and decided they were comfortable offering that NIL for him but not DJ once the choice was made they went all in.I don't think we were pushing Dishon out, though I also don't think we were going to spend a lot extra to keep him if I had to guess.
My enthusiasm for Pleta isn’t based on “numbers”.I could be wrong, but people should pump the brakes on Pleta, I think.
I wasn’t singling you out. Just used your post as it was the last one I saw in a quote to quote conversation about Pleta. My enthusiasm for Pleta isn’t based on “numbers”.
And I never get why people say that others should “pump the brakes”.
It’s my opinion, has nothing to do with whatever reality will eventually play out, and I’m a big boy who can handle it if I’m wrong.
It’s not like I’m heavily invested in being right or wrong. Or just stuck a pile of money on FanDuel on him averaging 20 and 10 as a frosh.
That would be on the football team beating ten wins this fall (just kidding).
Not a problem. Similarly I also wasn’t responding specifically to you, just in general.I wasn’t singling you out. Just used your post as it was the last one I saw in a quote to quote conversation about Pleta.
Apologies if you took it that way. That wasn’t my intent.
“Cantankerous” is the word I was looking for.Not a problem. Similarly I also wasn’t responding specifically to you, just in general.
And there’s a chance I haven’t had my coffee yet, and am a bit grumpy.
Off for a mug.
I think it was explained by Blum on a podcast that his value on the open market was more than we wanted to pay. I think his hands were the deterrent to going after him hard like we did with JeffersonI don't think we were pushing Dishon out, though I also don't think we were going to spend a lot extra to keep him if I had to guess.
