Talked to Jamarion Batemon yesterday, here's what he had to say.

He’s only a junior now! I doubt we cooled unless he said he wasn’t interested!
Suprised we have not heard some more rumblings about recruits . I thought October we were gonna hear some action about some commits.
Batemon recently visited Marquette. I wonder if they'll try and get him back for the Texas football game followed by a basketball game on Sunday afternoon. Seems like a logical visit weekend for all our top targets really.
He seems like a kid that will climb in the rankings based on the number of teams that are after him.
He is rated criminally low. Not sure why to be honest. Still relatively early in his recruitment cycle. We are working a year ahead of most.
Guessing it all just depends on how many scouts have seen him at AAU tourneys. If he is as good as our coaches and some other power teams think. He will move up for sure.
I have very little knowledge of recruits, EXCEPT, I hear from sources here Bateman is Iowa State's to lose.
Getting the win against Houston on national TV can't hurt recruiting. For shooters they have to see that we could use the help. For F/C types we are competing but lose so much after this season there is opportunity.
Well we do bring back Lipsey, Gilbert, C Jones, Pav and Milan. Jackson's got a little ways to go with the physicality and defense style we play but I think he's going to get it figured out either later this year or next year. Jones can play at this level, he just needs to learn how to shoot tired. In these high paced games he's being asked to do so much defensively that it effects his shot.
We also bring in Nojus, who I think could realistically play some minutes and Jelani Hamilton was a real good shooter in HS and hopefully the redshirt year will be good for him. Point is, I'd be shocked if we brought in a guard from the portal.
If im not mistaken, Curtis Jones is a senior? 1 Year at IHCC then 2 at buffalo and now final year at iowa state?
Plan is for CuJo to be back next year. He has a Covid year available.
I do think Nojus and Dwayne Pierce can both compete for minutes immediately. A lot is dependent of course on who from the current roster returns. Milan in particular will be a huge swing decision.
