They'll be on different teams. Sandfort is at Waukee NW and Omaha is going to be a Waukee. Pretty sure we aren't pursuing Sandfort and frankly that's okay because I just don't think he's good enough for Big 12 level basketball.
I think he is. Not that I'm upset that we aren't going after him but I think he could play in the B12.

His offensive game is clearly Big 12 level. He is ranked pretty decent. I would say he compares to Clayton Custer. Who would have eventually been a pretty good player if he was not stuck behind Monte.

How hard are we going after Sandfort? He seems like a huge Iowa lean, but he's teammates with Biliew and ISU is cooler than Iowa so hopefully that gives us a chance. We need a good wing.
I don't believe the staff is. TJ strategy has been to identify player develop a relationship over time and ISU hasn't been following Sandort. He won't pursue a target if he thinks it is likely he won't be at ISU just because he's local.
Sandfort has loooooong thought to be an EIU lock though Nebby/Fred have become players in his recruitment. The amount of effort the staff would have needed to get traction with PS was much better used on Omaha/Milian.

I guess I just don't few him as much different than his older brother. Going to be a good shooter for sure, decent size/length, but going to struggle defensively at the high major level and probably out matched athletically, limiting his upside. I suppose I'd say that he could be a solid role player as an upper classmen, but I'll certainly eat crow if he ends up being an impact player at the high major level.

Tall shooters have a place on my team unless they are too deficient in other areas. We could 100% use him and so could other B12 teams.

If we get Fish, we'll have only one open scholarship left (yes I know that can change). Top priority is going to be another rim protecting five. Having Watson and Hamilton not sure Sandfort is a need. Even if one of our 4 year seniors choose not to take advantage of the extra year I honestly don't see Sandfort as a replacement either.

Only one he could possibly replace would be Grill and I think we'd be looking for someone quicker.

Don't mistake anything I said for needing him, or even wanting him. I'm just convinced that he could play in the B12, and even for us.
