That uncertainty plus an obvious hometown lean = efforts better spent elsewhere. We got a really good one.He has had plenty of time since his injury to garner more offers and they didn't come.

Hunter was Big 12 FOTY and you’re complaining about him not being able to get to the rim and finish?Does anybody have concerns about Lipsey being able to compete in the Big 12? He is obviously very talented, but given his size I wonder about his ability to dribble drive and get his shot off against bigger and much more athletic competition. Tyrese Hunter was quite a bit more highly ranked as a recruit, seems to be considerably more athletic and 'bouncy' and we have seen him struggle to get to the rim and finish this year. I don't want to make it sound like I am ragging on the kid, because I do think he can compete at this level and be at least a role player on a good Big 12 team by the time it's all said and done, but when I watch him play and take his size into consideration, I don't know what makes a guy like Lipsey a no brainer and a guy like Bowen Born an MVC guy. There doesn't seem to be a lot of difference in their game IMO, and if anything Born is a much better shooter.
I have the exact same concerns, agree with everything you said…until the Bowen Born stuff.Does anybody have concerns about Lipsey being able to compete in the Big 12? The Born stuff was a misunderstanding on my part. I thought Lipsey was shorter/lighter than what he actually is. I retract it now, realizing Lipsey is 3" taller and considerably more stout than Bowen.I have the exact same concerns, agree with everything you said…until the Bowen Born stuff.
Hunter has been great, has lived up to every bit of the hype. But he does struggle to finish at the rim through contact, which hasn't been a surprise given his size and inexperience. I don't know what is wrong with what I saidHunter was Big 12 FOTY and you’re complaining about him not being able to get to the rim and finish?
I would say Hunter finishes at the rim very well for a freshman PG. Hunter has challenged some very good shot blockers with some success and I would think most freshman PGs physically can't do that.Hunter has been great, has lived up to every bit of the hype. I think he has improved as the season has progressed. What I don't like is that either he isn't drawing enough contact to get foul calls, or the refs have just been very hesitant to give him a whistle. It seems like he should shoot a lot more free throws than he has, and I would wager that on a good amount of his failures to finish he is probably getting bodied and/or hacked with no foul called.I would say Hunter finishes at the rim very well for a freshman PG. Most of Gabes IIRC would be open-ish lay ups while Hunters are challenging 1-2 defenders. Both IZB and TH would've had a higher rate if they'd not tried to posterize a few guys.Tyrese is just an ok finisher on close 2's - 56.0% on 134 attempts. For reference, Brockington is 58.6% on 128 attempts and Gabe is 63.5% on 74 attempts. There's certainly room for improvement there for Tyrese... you'd like to see that up above 60%.
However, I think he really needs to improve his free throw %. He's at 68% with easily the second most attempts on the team (97) behind Brockington. That's gotta be up in the mid-70's next season. The three point shot has gotten better even with the step up in competition level. It's easy to forget because we were winning but he went through a 1-23 slump between Memphis and the New Years Day game with Baylor.

Thank you for providing the evidence of what I was trying to say. People must not be watching the same games I am. LOLTyrese is just an ok finisher on close 2's - 56.0% on 134 attempts. 56% of close* 2's. Layups in other words, albeit contested ones.I'm not sure how CyPunch's post really supports what you were saying. 56% on 2s doesn't seem like struggling to me. Hunter needs to improve his FT% and 3P% has been said all year.
