ISU didn’t make Michael’s cut, sort of expected as he is looking at wanting to play closer to home. Tough A&M being on the list is odd.

After reopening his recruitment last week, 2020 wing JaDun Michael has cut his list to eight, he told @Stockrisers: Texas A&M, Virginia, Pittsburgh, East Carolina, Elon, Penn State, Cincinnati and NC State.

Sounds like there may be a few more guys that go pro from this HS class: Suggs Terrence Clarke and Jalen Greene.

For those of you that follow recruiting closely, are we even looking at any more high school kids from 2020? I wish we would have went after Aquan Smart. I know there isn’t much left obviously, but didn’t know if there was a de-commit or an under the radar prep school kid or anything.

Don't really think there is anyone left worth going after.

Not right now that I'm aware of.
Normally there would be coaching changes leading to players decommitting (think Wheeler last year) which would open a few late options. With CV those firings didn't really occur and probably wont as AD are erroring on being conservative with unknown revenue. Plus the staff already has 4 HS players incoming, I don't think they'd bee too keen on adding more unless they were real top impact players.

The only guy left that I know of that we offered and isn't committed is PG Desmond Polk. Things got quiet on him for all schools and he deleted Twitter so I'm wondering if he is headed JUCO.

Either he didn't develop or he didn't get grades. One of the two. Teams were on him and then everyone just suddenly backed off. Usually if he didn't break the law it boils down to grades or he had some poor showings on the AAU circuit and teams were not about him anymore.

FWIW, Jalen Suggs is officially a Zag as of today. Not going pro after all.
I know he committed months ago, but he had not yet signed his LOI until now.

“Possibly best used in a small ball power forward role, Dubar is a tough-nosed, versatile mismatch in the frontcourt that will, at the least, compete and defend”

There we go! Dubar, Johnson, and Blackwell are going to play a lot of minutes at the 3 and 4 spots. They’ll have to if we only have three guards!

We reached out to the one who decommitted from Wichita State? But didn’t make his final list.

Nice little write up about Dubar

Iowa State needs some production out of its incoming freshmen class and
Darlinstone Dubar may be the guy that leads the charge. Possibly best used in a small ball power forward role, Dubar is a tough-nosed, versatile mismatch in the frontcourt that will, at the least, compete and defend“

I like Dubar’s game. I think it’ll translate to instant contributions.

I'm 100% honest when I say we in no way should fill all of the scholarships. We need to save at least 2 for the summer/next fall recruiting class.

Prohm seems to be well ahead of you!

I remember thinking we’d add a mid year after Leech and Anderson left. I guess we were saving those for 2021-22
