Appears Monte is on board. Any guess if him and Prohm have an actual conversation about this? Btw, what is the connection for those being surprised if it doesn’t end up being Missouri? Just curious.
Beecher is where Monte went to School, and I know Monte was championing ISU before Jalen committed to MSU. Prohm can't request Monte go and say good things about ISU though.

XF looks pretty doubtful. They’d better have a plan B in the works for another forward. I hope we have turned the corner away from 4g small-ball. That might be what is scaring off our big man recruits - no willingness to compete in the paint by CSP.

Where are u getting tour info that he looks doubtful. Everyone else is saying it looks promising

Care to wager? Everyone on here knows I'm up for one. Let's hear some terms. $20?

Cornell Mann (former ISU assistant who recruited Monte) is an assistant at Mizzou.
I just saw Cornell Mann's son committed to Purdue. 4 star, and is planning to play football and bball. I think he's the 4 star in football.

I don't think Foster would be bothered by not having to compete in the paint to much. A majority of modern day post players would rather do their work between 19' and 10' from the basket.

I do find it a bit interesting that Foster wasn't wearing Iowa related gear or even the colors on his OV. No doubt on purpose to not give either fan base false hope or picture to use after he makes his choice.
Still rare for recruits to not be wearing the school colors on their visit as the other recruits on OV's with him were decked out in tiger hawk.
Does anyone know if Xavier wore ISU gear on his official to Ames? Just curious.
He's supporting the visitor's locker room at Kinnick. That probably means "not Iowa".

Foster would be an excellent fit as the 5 in our 4/1 system. He’d have single-teams under the hoop, could lurk in the dunking spot, and run with the guards very nicely rim-to-rim.

Yeah I mean we've only won 2 Big 12 Tournament Titles in the last 3 years using 4 guard small ball. Lol

I doubt he was serious.
Remember early in Fred’s tenure how some wanted to “turn the corner away from” recruiting transfers?

Small ball isn’t going away. As long as we can defend a conventional 4 when needed, that’s all that matters. With Prohm consistently having two or three big men, plus small ball fours, he’s giving himself the option.

so what does this mean?

I assume Prohm is starting the recruitment for the spring to be prepared if a guard leaves.

Same school as Clarence Nadolny I believe, who had that type of late recruitment last Spring. The staff must have a connection there and must feel he'll be a late riser.

Assume there is something to hints at a midyear transfer. Notice those not mentioned today. Not to name names.

Also, always need scoring coming in.
Which would make room for Foster.

Really wish we could have snagged Grant-Foster, but getting Foster and Terry or another scorer like this would be an fantastic class.
