Clearly it’s not a message board thing. Nearly every player cares about the first round and so far are willing to pass up money in the short-term and instead try to use college basketball to improve their draft prospects.I don't know what Wigginton's support situation is, but in many ways, having a full ride at a school like Iowa State is a better life than the G League. G League guys get paid squat to play in front of 20 people. Sure, you're around other good players, but they're all in competition with each other. I know what I would do, but Wigginton seems to want to go pro no matter what. The G League is a graveyard more often than not.
But Wigginton will be 21 this draft. He may recognize it’s time to be pragmatic and that it’s time to move on from the first round dream.
