He's a kid that I'd love to have, but I refuse to get excited about us recruiting him because the second UK offers, he gone.

Hard to go up against UK we'll see if they offer, and I wouldn't get to excited about any 2019 prospect this early in the process.
That said, Prohm isn't afraid to go against the blue bloods and Tandy has a long relationship with Prohm (already visited last Decemeber) well see how it plays out but I think the staff is in solid position as of today.

The only way we beat Kentucky is if he is the second option for them and someone else is going to play in front of him and he knows it. He might opt to come be a star at Iowa State. He also might be the reason we are not going after Tyler Harris. Bigger fish than Harris.

If Chris Mack leaves Xavier that would be an interesting wrinkle in the Luke Anderson recruitment. Was recently reported that Xavier is the favorite but ISU is 2nd place. Believe Notre Dame and Ok State were others involved but haven't offered yet.

This is a great point... though he'd likely consider Louisville then if that occurred but with pending sanctions being an obvious issue for Mack. If nothing else it would give the staff more time to recruit him and get him to take the visit to Ames he has been planning. I know Anderson had been hinting at an early commitment so any delay would help ISU's cause.

Follow up on this. Mack got the Louisville job. Travis Steele was/is Xavier's lead recruiter on Anderson. Many believe Steele is the front runner for the Xavier head job and if he gets it, I'm assuming he'll still push for Anderson. Not sure Mack will push for Anderson at Louisville.
